Why are people duped into believing not having health insurance means you don't get health care?

85% of US hospitals are non-profits. It's illegal not to provide health care to people for not having insurance. Why are people being brainwashed into believing otherwise? Even the poor in the US get better health care than they do in the UK and canada.

We have the best health care available to us only if we can afford it. Even with primary health insurance people are going blind and suffering through unbearable mouth pain because of lack of dental and vision insurance.
