How Do i get Health insurance? Please help!?

I am an international student and im in college right now. I am 19 years old and I want to know how I can get health insurance to cover most health costs (vaccines, check up, dental work). I already have a bull sh%t insurance from my college but thats not real insurance. I need real insurance that is approved bu New York State. And How much would it cost me?

Medical Discount Plan ideal for those who cannot afford or qualify for traditional health insurance. The companies offer discounted health services for a quite low monthly fee. Benefits include a range of discounts for doctors, hospitals, dental, vision, prescriptions, vitamins, as well as other health services. Individual & Family Health Plans This is a major health insurance plan for individuals and families. If you are looking for comprehensive long term health insurance coverage for yourself and/or your family members who are 62 years old or younger - this is the plan to choose. Short Term Medical Plans This plan is ideal for individuals in transition. Maybe you have just graduated from college and are no longer covered under your student health insurance or you moved out on your own, and you're no longer covered under your parents' medical insurance plan. Or perhaps you're employed part-time, going to school, leaving home for the first time, or even retiring early. Maybe you've found a new job, but your new employer's group health insurance plan won't kick in until you've been with months. YOu are not the only one who met this problem,I have met this type of problem before.I have good experience here    www.HealthInsuranceIdeas.info    to solve my similiar problem.

Question about the Health Insurance Bill that just passed in the House?

I am having a hard time finding anything in the health care bill that will help to control the cost of health care in this country. Can someone explain to me how the provisions in this bill will lower the amount we spend on health care as a nation?
--------------------
it wont. right now you are paying for your own health care which cost X amount. If this passes, you will have to pay for your X amount plus Y amount in taxes for the jerk off who doesn't work and expects free health care. This will cause your insurance company to raise their prices on you so you can no longer afford yours then you will have to go with government run health care. Which will eventually run every private health care company out of business. In the end you will be paying thousands more in taxes for your "free" health care than you did for your health care that only cost X amount Nationalized health care will screw us all. you will pay more for crappy coverage

Does health insurance cover marriage counseling?

I'm going to call & check when I get a chance. But I just wanted to know your experiences. We have Anthem BCBS if that matters. If insurance doesn't cover it, does anyone know about how much it costs?
--------------------
My insurance pays for a certain portion of counseling.

Seeming how I get free state funded health insurance, tell me why I?

Shouldn't use the ambulance for a free ride to the hospital?
--------------------
because unless it is an emergency they may not pay. but more importantly you would be taking one away from some one who really needed it. lastly if you are on state assistance.there usually is a resource that provides free shuttle or bus to and from appointments. contact your Cso.

Does Sanate bill exempt illegal immigrants from fines in case they fail to purchase health insurance?

Is it true that only American citizens and legal immigrants will be fined, and then jailed?
--------------------
Probably - and we pay for them too. Sure, it's doesn't say they are paid for but if they don't check, they are paid for. Obama is a LIAR! Joe Wilson was correct.

Is it a lot harder to sell health insurance since our economy has gotten worse?

Im an considering pursing this but am terrified by a job that is solely commision based
--------------------
Selling in the employer-based market is exrtremely competitive, and it always will be. Working solely for commission is always a bit scary, but can also be a great motivator. In this economy, employers are looking for new ideas, new concepts to help them balance the cost to the quality of the benefits. The purpose of employee benefits is to attract and retain quality employees. It is not an entitlement, but rather an incentive to keep the business' clients happy with the quality of their products and service. Good Luck. P.S. I agree with the NASE comment above.

Health Insurance - What's an optional rider benefit?

I'm applying for health insurance at my job for the very first time and some of this terminology is new and confusing to me. Could someone please explain to me (as if i were a 5 year old) what an optional rider is? Should i want this? What should i be looking for in an optional rider?
--------------------
a rider is anything that you attach onto the policy. It "rides on" the base policy. The option part means you can choose to have it or not. It can be anything from additional coverage above & beyond what they are offering you (which you would pay the additional cost on) to other services like dental coverage, accidental life insurance, family additions, disability insurance. There are many different options as each employer has different things to offer.

which company I can get cheaper health insurance?and any hospital free or cheaper?

I just moved to Schaumburg, IL. i want to buy an health insurance for my mom,and she is 49 years old. Anyone know where I can get cheaper health insurance? And also is there have any free hospital or cheaper?
--------------------
There are several ways to compare health plans to find cheaper health insurance for your mom. First, you could look in the yellow pages under "health insurance" and contact an insurance agent specializing in health insurance. They could answer any questions you have and give you quotes for different health plans for you to compare and choose the right coverage for your mom. Or, you could compare health insurance quotes and plans online from a health insurance quote provider. Two leading online health insurance quote providers are: 1) InsureMe - they give you up to five free health insurance quotes from top-rated health insurers nationwide. To Request a free, no obligation quote, Go to - http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Ref… 2) eHealthinsurance.com offers you side-by-side quote comparisons from a large network of health insurers across the country. eHealthinsurance has more than 900,000 clients in the U.S. I don't know of any free hospital coverage at this time. Before choosing a plan make sure to compare quotes at different deductible amounts. Make sure you understand the Co-Pay provision in the policy. Also, review all exclusions, especially any Pre-existing Conditions Exclusions. I hope that helps you find affordable health insurance for your mother. Best of luck to both of you.

Why is it health insurance can't pay 100 percent when 80 percent usually leaves most with a huge bill?

One big problem healthcare in my family (married couple, 2 children) is that even when our insurance does pay, it only pays 80 percent, and we are stuck with a huge bill or bills especially after a hospital visit or stay from multiple facilities. I have so many health problems even though I am only 29 that we cannot pay every medical bill that we owe, it is impossible. We pay what we can, but still end up having some go on our credit. Now people with Medicaid, which I do think is wonderful for those who need it, end up not having any left over bills and us people who make 45,000 to 50,000 a year end up with huge bills we cannot ever pay due to our other obligations like house payment and car payments and things for our children, which are much more important than a left 500-600 dollar hospital bill plus multiple others, especially when we basically live paycheck to paycheck anyway. What can be done about this?
--------------------
this sounds crazy but you already admit you can not pay all med bills .So if you look up your credit report you are already listed as a risk This is what you do Quit paying any med bill after insurance. This is why for many reasons 1. medical bills generally never hurt your credit scores if you keep up with the rest of your debts 2. every person with a ounce of brains knows what a rip off these bills are 3. The med bills are delibertaly over priced so those who have insurance pay for those who do not have any. 4. when the insurance company pays they get a huge discount that you never see on any of your bills. 5. When my son in law had emergency surgery his tab came to 32,000 dollars. I met with my daughter His wife at the Hospitals accounting office before they checked out. They had no insurance or means to pay the bill so I settled the account for them.I told the lady that I would give them 4000 cash if they would mark the bill paid in full.I gave her 3 minutes to accept or likly never get a cent as the kids had no way of paying. They tried to argue but I told her you have one minute left after that I walk. As I have no responsibility to even offer a settlement take it or get nothing. THEY TOOK IT>>>> You can do the same walk in make a offer show the cash they accept or walk never more to return.or feel obligated to pay. at 15 cents on the dollar they still are making a profit. $20 for a .05 cent asprin proves they are way out of line. Every one has a right to make a profit but not that much or at the risk of your well being ,peace of mind and severe stress it causes your family.

Question for people who have signed up for health insurance at work.?

I have joined up with a company to offer a benefit to all employees at any company who has employees. I would like to know what works best to get the appointment with the owner to to go over what I have to offer. Is cold calling each company the best way or is going to see each company in person the best way to get the appointment to show what I have? I don't want to waste time or reinvent the wheel so thats why I am asking you good people... Thanks in advance.
--------------------
If it is a big company they will have a HR department. The HR handles all the health/life and other benefits for the company plus taxes etc. When an employee starts employment, the HR will submit all the forms needed for the employee to sign and usually has all the booklets describing the benefits he will have as an employee of "X" company. Most likely the owner will go by what HR comes up with. You might want to call them and ask for an appointment to discuss options of what they currently have and what you have to offer. good luck

Why are Democrats silent on Obama's Health insurance industry bailout?

Have they become as acquiescent as Republicans were under Bush?
--------------------
It is not a bailout. There are four elements to the White House Proposal: "[1] hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies so people can afford insurance; [2] regulations so that insurers can't deny people insurance and create a situation where only the healthy have coverage; [3] a mandate so that people have to purchase insurance and can't create a situation where no one purchases coverage until they're sick; and [4] exchanges so that there's a working market where people can buy their insurance and be confident in the product's quality." http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezra-kl… Considering what everyone is getting, it is a good deal for everyone.

I'm a grad student...Can I be covered under my parent's health insurance?

I am currently 22 and a grad student out of state. I claimed independence (you are required to as a grad student) and I am in the process of obtaining residency. Right now I'm on my dad's health insurance but he said since he can't claim me on my taxes as a dependent that I can no longer be on his health insurance. I have friends that continue to be on their parents. Anyone know if I'm allowed to be covered by my parents if I'm considered independent?
--------------------
The general rule of thumb is that a child must be financially dependent on the insured parent in order to be covered. Different plans vary according to maximum age, but ALL require financial dependency. To clarify "Ernesto's" response, you MAY be qualified for COBRA coverage -- but not all employers are subject to COBRA, such as small employers or the Federal Government. If the insurer tells you that you're no qualified for COBRA, look in your father's Certificate of Coverage to see what your options are. Some states have what's referred to as "mini-COBRA" that essentially gives you the same opportunity to continue the group coverage you have now.

Are conservative Christians against Universal Health Insurance as they want us to place our faith in that guy?

instead of the government? That somehow "praying" is going to cause that Middle Eastern Superhero to fly back to Earth to give me that root canal surgery or help uninsured children in the United States? Do they look back to the Glory Days of Christ's Emissary, George W. Bush, with pride and hope that by causing more illnesses and misery among Americans, their Jesus can return to Earth at last?
--------------------
Conservative Christians do tend to make one ill.

where are we going to get our health insurance?

If we HAVE to have health insurance now....where do we get it???? Look on line??? In the phone book???? Why aren't sales people knocking my door down to sell it to me? I have no idea where to get it.
--------------------
You do not HAVE to have health insurance now. That portion of the bill doesn't go into effect until 2014. There are sales people knocking on doors to prey on victims, selling scam policies to people who believe they must purchase a policy. If you want health insurance you'll need to contact a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. If you try to get a policy on-line you may be declined if you are out of the height and weight guidelines of that particular company of if you have pre-existing conditions. The local agent can find the best policy for your situation and budget.

Why did Sam Walton's wife have to demand he provide health insurance for his full time workers?

How will the state of mass. collect and enforce fines (penalties)for unpaid mandatory health insurance?

According to reports non-participation in mandatory health insurance will result first in loss of state personal income tax refund (?), then fines!!! How does the state intend to recoup or enforce these fines??? Liens? Wage garnishing?? Seizure of property??? Loss of drivers license or other state issued licenses?? I haven't found the actual statute to review it.
--------------------
The fines will be charged and enforced by the Department of Revenue, in the same way the Department of Revenue collects unpaid taxes and related fees.

how do i fill out health insurance application?

do both my husband and i have to fill out separate applications? or can i add him on my form?
--------------------
You really need to ask the person who gave you the form. However, in most cases if you are getting on the same policy you only need one form. If it's an individual policy there will be places in the health questions for both people and a place to put the spouses' name and DOB. If it's a group policy there may or may not be health questions and if there are, there may or may not be questions for both people, but there still should be someplace to name the spouse. If there is not you may or may not need two applications. Again, it depends upon the plan and the insurance company so you should ask them.

what's the best health insurance plan for a healthy, single male age 24?

to see a dermatologist, considering a hyperhidrosis surgery (for sweaty palms), and aching back, you know.. stuff like that.
--------------------
Hmmm...well if you TELL the insurance company you are taking out an individual policy JUST so you can have insurance to cover a surgery, you'll be rejected for coverage. If you don't tell them what your intentions are, and have the surgery before the 3-month probationary period, your coverage will be dropped. That is, if the surgery is actually covered under an individual policy. What you are describing is an elective surgery, and 99% of the time, individual insurance will not cover such an expense. You better read your policy carefully before you proceed! But, for the fun of it, let's say the insurance company DOES cover the expense of elective surgery, and you are a good boy and wait the 3-months required BEFORE you see a doctor about the condition (which you must do if you think the insurance will cover the expense). Here's what will happen: Your surgery will get reported to the MIB. Don't know what that is? Find out here: http://www.health-insurance-low-cost.net… Next, your renewal time will increase in DIRECT proportion to the cost the insurance carrier had to dole out on the surgery. Finally, if you decide to drop the carrier because they increased your rate, good luck finding another plan. Because individual carriers, unlike group carriers, carry a database on what your "pre-existing" conditions are. Then you will forever be labelled as having that condition, and it will be very difficult to get covered. People tend to forget that insurance companies are businesses first and foremost. They are interested in making money. They are not particularly interested in covering your medical expenses. If you go into taking out an individual plan thinking it's free money...well, think again. Your best bet on insurance, if you are wishing to have these conditions covered, is to get a good job with a government or large employer, where you will qualify for group health coverage. But be prepared that even group health does not cover elective procedures. And "sweaty palm" surgery is most likely an elective process which will not be covered.
