Can you get massage therapy covered by your health insurance?

I am interested in getting massage treatments and was wondering if they are covered by health insurance. Or how can I get them covered? Thanks in advance.
--------------------
It depends completely on your insurance. Mine covers massage, but it is part of treatment at a chiropractor's office with interdisciplinary care. So as long as the doc puts it in my treatment plan it is covered. It has to be used for a specific problem, for me it is back pain Look at your insurance book, or website. More and more insurances are covering it as an adjunct to chiropractic care and physical therapy

Is there a way to get health insurance for someone who was diagnosed as clinically depressed ?

A friend was denied health insurance by Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Is any insurance available in California, where she lives, for a person who has been to therapy and takes medication prescribed by an M.D. ?

What is a good Australian Private Health Insurance for a person with Multiple Sclerosis?

A friend of mine was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and is seeking Health insure in Australia. Is it difficult to find Health insurance for a person suffering from this disease, and are there any recommendations
--------------------
My daughter also has MS. She has joined a health fund since diagnosis. She will not be covered for anything related to MS for 12 months after joining. Any of the health funds will cover her, She does not have to disclose the medical condition when joining. MBF,NIB,Medibank Private etc all are very similar in what they offer. The pre exisiting rule comes in when she makes a claim. The fund will decide whether they believe the condition was pre existing. Even if you were not aware of a condition when joining they can still deny you cover should they deem that the onset was over a progression of time. Hope that helps.

Is the health insurance paid to lay off employee taxable?

If a company paid it's terminated employee a 6 month health insurance coverage, does this health insurance insurance payment taxable?
--------------------
If your former employer is paying your health insurance premium it is not taxable income to you. If the insurance is COBRA coverage, it will not be taxable to you even if your employer gives you the premium and you pay the insurance.

Is it worth getting health insurance in the UK?

Ok - I'm here from the States where you absolutely have to have health insurance, but in England - there's the NHS. All well and good but it takes forever to get an appointment with my GP, and for specialist stuff - like ENT, good clean dentists and the like, it takes forever and it's damn expensive. So is it worth getting health insurance over here? And if so, which providers are best? Anybody with personal experience, or who just knows the ins-and-outs, let me know.
--------------------
You should think yourself very lucky that when visiting the UK from America your treatment is free. It is very expensive for us Brits when we visit your country.Yes, there are plenty of private health schemes that will be glad to take your money. But, our National Health Service is the best AND free.

What is considered non photo ID by Delta Air? Will a credit card work, or a health insurance card?

I am flying in a couple of weeks (within the US) and my photo ID is not valid. To substitute, I will have to produce two forms of non photo ID, one of which must have been issued by a local/state or federal government agency. I don't have a copy of my birth certificate, but I'm hoping that (along with my Social Security Card) a credit card or my health insurance card will suffice. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
--------------------
Yes; the CC and health card will be Ok to use. Happy travels.

Can plastic surgeons correct that? Yes. Is it covered by insurance? Most likely no, because it's elective cosmetic surgery.

People like to refute a comparison of the requirement to buy car insurance with the health insurance mandate?

by saying that people choose to own a car. If you don't have the car then you don't need the insurance. Just how, exactly, are people able to choose to not have a body - something that can and will need medical care, often through no fault of the "owner"? Yes, people can choose to keep themselves in better health by eating right and exercise, but there are also illnesses that people are born with or that just happen. Can you explain how people can choose not to have a body without committing suicide?
--------------------
"...but there are also illnesses that people are born with or that just happen. " And BEFORE you could NOT get insurance if you were such a person. So you would suffer unnecessarily with a treatable illness... then go to the E.R. when the condition threatened your LIFE. This uninsured visit costs the REST OF US.... something between $20K and $250K. Now if that person HAD insurance.... and the insurance company COULD NOT refuse him for having such a condition. Then the Insurance company MUST do what they CLAIM they have been doing. That is.... collecting premiums on a large group to spread the risk that ONE of them will get sick and spread the COST if and when they do. Up until today... the insurance companies have the best of both worlds.... collect premiums from the LARGE group..... KICK OUT of the group anyone who actually needs the services that they have been PAYING FOR for years prior. What this bill does... is FORCE insurance companies to ACTUALLY provide insurance. That is all. P.S. You can opt out...and pay a fine... or keep your CURRENT insurance and NOTHING changes for you. So what IS your problem?

--------------------
It depends. There's always a few quacks out there, but for the most part these clinics are on the up and up and do provide very good service. As matter of fact, I run one of those clinics. I work with patients who are on Medicaid and Medicare and have fixed incomes. Not a whole lot of people know it, but insurance companies pretty much dicate what a physician can and can't do if they decide to contract with the insurance company and if the insurance company feels they are not seeing enough patients per day they can actually deduct money from the doctor. It's very sad. Plus, the insurance company has certain guidelines on what they will pay for certain services, so the physician usually never receives the amount they bill for. It's always lower. Hope this helps some. Dr. J. R. McClary

Is there health insurance coverage for unemployed people with adverse medical conditions?

Suppose you have a child or spouse who has a horrible health condition and are currently employed. You lose your job, and thereby lose coverage, not only for yourself but for your family member. Is your child/spouse left to die, or are there programs that can help pay for this, considering that the cost of such a medical expense is too great for a person with to job without health insurance to cover? For this case, just consider the U.S.
--------------------
Not in the US. That's why health care reform is such a big topic now.
Source

What would you do if you lost your job and your health insurance with it?

Assume that while you were still insured it was discovered that you had a health condition that ultimately prevented you from getting new insurance coverage after you lost our job, what are your options? Are you doomed to death or bankruptcy?
--------------------
GREAT POINT, that is the whole issue. That is why so many americans are not covered. It is not all irresponsible people that are going to get all the benefits. Any civilized nation should and do provide healthcare benefits to its citizens. It is a solemn right, duty and our privilege in this country to have healthcare. I do not see why people want to back up the billion dollar health care providers, insurance companies and their cronies and the pharmaceutical companies that are trying their best again to stop it. I wonder why they would want to, I ask myself this. Because they could never compete with a government run system or single payer system because then they could not make the billions by cutting people off. 48 million americans, uninsured. Highest healthcare costs out of 50 industrialized nations, shorter lifespan, that is where we are now. That is why it needs to be done and will be, for this is a national shame that needs to be fixed and it has nothing to do with losing freedom it actually is about giving the people a voice, not just a boot out the door of healthcare coverage.

What are some good, low cost family health insurance plans for...?

My husband and I need health insurance. He is a full time student and I am full time worker. We cannot get decent health insurance through his school or my work. We are looking for a low deductable, 0% coinsurance, and we need something with great maternity coverage, since we're planning on starting a family soon. If you know of any great plans like this, please share! Thank you for your help!
--------------------
So you want an isnurance policy that will pay out 2 dollars for every 1 dollar you pay in premiums. Those companies are bankrupt. They don't pay their claims anyway. You should take a look at my agents website he can get you great coverage.

What should I do if I have social anxiety and depression and I dont have health insurance?

What should I do if I have social anxiety and depression and I dont have health insurance? Where can I get free treatment or meds?I live in California.
--------------------
I agree with the last answer you received, pot or alcohol is not the answer. Look in the directory for free help. People donate money for these kinds of cases all over the US. They donate to help people that cannot afford the high cost of doctors, and medication. You'll have to research a little, but in the long run it will pay off.... Good luck, and don't listen to the others.

Only in very rare instances where they are your dependents, totally. So rather doubtful that you could get them covered, but you are a nice child to try to include them.

Will employers be required to PAY for employees health insurance or just be required to provide access to it?

In the house bill? Lots of companies take part or all of the cost of health insurance out of their employees checks. Will this practice stop because of Obama's health care plans? And force employers to pay 100% of health insurance costs? What about deductibles & co-pays?
--------------------
I think that if this bill passes it could have an effect on how much employers are willing to pay for their employee insurance plans. Ex. an employer who pays their employee's premiums may not wish to continue this. I've never heard of any employer paying the deductible or co-pay however. That is the responsibility of the insured.

To calculate wages for line 1 on my W2 do I subtract my pre-tax health insurance?

I am just trying to get an idea on what my W2 will look like. I am curious if line 1, or the wages, will be minus my health insurance because I pay for it with pre-tax dollars.
--------------------
NO, The Pretax health insurance is your personal stuff which you have to pay tax on it. Since you paid tax on it, you are allowed to claim the credit of the health insurance. Go to your schedule A, Line 1 and put the total expenses of insurance, medical expenses etc.. on line 1. Remember if your wages was $10,000 and your medical insurance was $700 annually, you can not deduct or claim as the amount greater than 7.5% of your income. You may use this formula to see if you can claim the medical and insurance amount or not. Even if you end up with some amount after you deduct the 7.5%, still you need to see total amount more than your standard deduction. It is little confusing to many, BUT it does frustrate a lot of people including myself.

Where can I buy Health and Dental Insurance online?

My husband and I both work but neither one of our employers offers health or dental insurance. Where can I go online to look at different plans? We live in the state of Georgia. Also...does Dental insurance normally come with Health insurance or do you have to purchase it separately?
--------------------
Why do you want to buy it online? Great way to get scammed, buying it online. Also, it's a great way to have your identity stolen - trust me, if someone can impersonate a paypal website, they can impersonate an insurance company website. Plus, if you buy it online, how do you know it's going to be VALID in your state? How do you know your emails won't start bouncing as soon as they get your bank account info? You don't. Buy from a local agent. Dental insurance comes seperately. AND, private plans almost ALWAYS cost more than they pay out. I've NEVER seen a private dental plan where YOU come out ahead, due to deductibles, copays, and waits.

Best fully comprehensive Canadian health insurance for Australians on a working holiday permit?

I'm an Australian who is relocating to Canada on a working holiday permit and need to get fully comprehensive health insurance. Any other Australians (or those in Canada on a working holiday) want to share their experience with providers / suggestions? Thanks
--------------------
Depending on where you are going you can be covered under your travel insurance for the first 3 months and then be covered under the local state health insurance. You can also swap your Australian Licence for a Canadian one with out doing all the tests.
