Is vision insurance like regular health insurance in that you may not be covered if you already have glasses?

It's hard to get health insurance if you have an existing problem. Is it also hard to get vision insurance like this? I have never had vision insurance, but hope to get it soon. I am nearsighted in one eye and have astigmatism in the other, which are pretty common problems; but, even common problems make normal insurance difficult!

no. vision insurance just spreads the cost of an annual eye exam and glasses/contacts out over the course of a years premiums. thats it. it doesnt matter whats wrong with your eyes. they wont even ask you whats wrong with your eyes when you apply. it doesnt matter. so the answer is no...you cannot be "denied" a vision plan for a pre-existing vision problem. not that i've ever heard of anyway
