Hi At the present time I'm on a cobra converstion plan with one major carrier that is very expensive. I just applied and got accepted to a private insurance plan that is very good from a major company. I have a few concerns. I'm 284lbs and on the app I said I was 265 lbs On my insurance app I forgot to mention that I had back problems. however I did mention I had sleep apena issues. Everything else was truthfull. 1. My question is once I'm in can they throw me out of my insurance policy once I have been accepted. 2. My broker told me every year health insurance goes up which is true Can they rase me more than other people on the plan. My broker says no is that true?

Over 40 million people in this country have no health insurance because?
they can't afford it. So what does the government propose to do to help them? FORCE them to buy their own private health insurance or face massive fines. Excuse me, but I didn't need some faceless bureaucrat to tell me this, I could have done this myself. The whole reason we need health insurance reform in the first place is precisely because it is unaffordable- HELLO? This is just another SICKENING example of how clueless and out of touch politicians are with the average person. What do you think?

My employers Health insurance company cancelled our policy for non payment?
It was cancelled on Aug 1st, we were told about it around the 15th. They told us they were working on getting it re installed. I heard today that the insurance company was not going to re install our policy and that we should start looking to get our own health insurance. You are absolutely right. And if the insurance companies have to lower their premiums, that will mean higher deductibles, co-pays & co-insurance. They will get their money from somewhere. Even Medicare has a deductible and a 20% coinsurance. Many senior citizens have to purchase another plan to pay for what Medicare does not.

Its through my work. I cant sign up until next month so I want to research this. It is a PPO plan but I'm not even yet sure what company the health insurance is through. One insurance company told me "insurance for a baby is too expensive" and hung up on me.
