Can your company see what you use your health insurance for?

Can your company see what you use your health insurance for? I want to go to a weight loss physician, but I don't want my company to know that I went to that kind of doctor if I use my insurance. My company is very small (about 20 people) so everyone knows everybody. Will my company see that I used the insurance to see a weight loss physician?
--------------------
No, unless your health affect the company. Which side is concerned about your health is the insurance company . .

How to add my family to my employer health insurance when they arrive from out of the country?

I started working in California, USA. I have employer provided health insurance. My family is joining me from out of the country. How can I add them to my employer provided health insurance. Thanks
--------------------
Check with your insurance provider and if you can add them I hope you have a damn good job because insurance ain't cheap.

Will the date I pick up my prescription be on my parents health insurance?

I know the name of the medicine will be, but will the date show? Does the health insurance bill for meds picked up at the pharmacy come every month? Or just once a year?
--------------------
If the insurance plan covers prescription drugs then the insurance bill/record probably *will* show the date, the name of the drug, and the amount spent. (This is what happens when you go to the Dr's office and the visit is covered by insurance, so I figure buying prescription drugs will be similar).

If you're in the US, there are confidentiality laws that do not allow anyone to see your medical records without you giving permission (with the exception of the hospital/doctor/etc.) There is one exception- if your insurance is through a health and welfare benefit plan, then whoever administers the plan has access to what funds are used for. Those are rare, though, so you probably have nothing to worry about.

How do I find a mental hospital to check into if i dont have health insurance?

I dont have any health insurance. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 14. I'm going to be 24 next month and I've been off meds since I was 18 but I know I need help now, but I dont have insurance or a job. I have NO WAY to support myself or pay for counceling. PLEASE HELP!!!
--------------------
I agree with Andy. Also, while this is not hospitalization, do you have Easter Seals in your area? If you do, you probably qualify for psychiatric services and therapy at no cost. Have you also looked in to applying for Medicaid? Medicaid coverage is retroactive for 90 days, so if you're suicidal it's likely a hospital would admit you if you tell a little white lie and say you've applied for Medicaid. Best of luck, whichever route you decide to take.

health insurance and retirement benefits for a small business office?

I am starting up a new business which will include me and one additional hired helper. The business is in North Carolina. What are the legal requirements for providing health insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits for my new employee? It would be a lot simpler for me to just pay the individual additional 20% or so rather than having to set up all those benefits for such a small business office. What are the legal requirements if any?
--------------------
As of right now (pending ObamaCare), there are no requirements to provide either health, retirement or life insurance benefits. You can, of course, work with a bank to provide a payroll deducted IRA with no contribution from you, same with life insurance.

Is it possible to talk to a counselor without my father finding out through his health insurance?

My health insurance is through my father. I don't have a good relationship with him...there for - I don't want him to find out. When the insurance company is billed, will my father know? I don't really know how to go about this. I don't know how the insurance companies work, and if the card holder is able to find out information, etc. My guess is yes. Can anyone provide me with some info?
--------------------
It depends on the type of insurance you have. Not the name brand, but the plan. Some plans, he'll get an 'explanation of benefits'. Some, he won't. Call the number on the back of your card and find out.

Can I get health insurance in Austin if I have a visa L1 and my wife has a visa L2 and she is pregnant?

How big of a problem will it be for my to have health insurance when I'm older?

I was born with cataracts and have not had lens replacement/implant surgery. I'm legally blind and my vision is terrible. There is a very high chance due to family history I will have high blood pressure and probably high cholesterol. With the economy the way it is, and my health problems, how hard will it be to get insurance when im older? I'm currently in high school.
--------------------
If you get a job that has group health benefits you will not have any problems, other than a 6 - 12 month waiting period (depending on your state) before any pre-existing conditions are covered. If you try to get an individual policy, no matter your age, the companies will either place a permanent rider on the cataracts or will decline to accept you (again, depending on your state). A rider means they will accept you but not cover the cataracts or anything related to the cataracts. The rider will remain in place until you've had, and paid for yourself, corrective surgery.

Health Insurance company that pays for lapband?

I am overweight and want to get the surgery done. I know I am within the weight limit recommended for it but it has not been recommended by a Dr yet. Also, with new insurance, how long is the wait before they will pay for any (minor) surgeries? I've been led to believe that lapband surgery is short and simple, go home same day. What health insurance companies are "lapband" friendly and are likely to approve the procedure as not being overweight makes me less likely to develop obesity related diseases?

If most people become infected with an STD then will they need health insurance to treat the disease?

Are most STD treatments within the reach of people who cannot afford health insurance? If an STD, infected, person, is treated then will his life expectancy be decreased? Magic Johnson has been infected with HIV for about 18years. Is that a result of his wealth?
--------------------
You need to stop using STD and HIV as if they were the same thing. That being said, if you have HIV and are treated for that, your life expectancy will probably be decreased. Several STD's can be cured within 1 week and will never cause any long term problems or decrease your life expectancy. Other STD's like Herpes can continue to cause minor problems for you for the rest of your life. .

Help me by giving details about world health insurance?

I am a woman, working in a firm and I want to know about health insurance. How the rules and from where I can take health insurance?Which is the best rate of a good health insurance?
--------------------
You can buy (not "take") health insurance from a health insurance company that sells health insurance in your state. The best rate is different in each state; it is not the same nationally.

How do you deal with mental health issues if you can't afford health insurance?

I have been having anxiety, low self esteem, depression, and suicidal thoughts have been crossing my mind the past few months.. which makes me feel like I need more help then I realized. I work full time but with all of my school loans and other bills i don't think i could afford health insurance because I don't make too much an hour.
--------------------
In the state I live in the public mental health facilities have a "sliding scale fee rate" based on income versus certain allowable expenses. Maybe you could investigate and see if your area is like that. Other than that, if you have a church/religion, often churches will have an affiliation with certain counselors. Short of that, find someone to talk with. Therapy (in my experience) is talking to an interested party that will redirect questions about what you have said back to you and get YOU to find your own answers. So... if you have a good friend with empathy and common sense... they might be able to "fill in" in that role. Often people just want to talk and have someone listen that cares. How about an older relative or relative of a friend (maybe you best friend's aunt or something like that) while avoiding any relationships that might have sexual overtones (men if you are hetero; women if you are lesbian). Someone with empathy and common sense.

Anyone know of really good health insurance that is affordable?

I just found out I'm pregnant and I have no health insurance at all and I don't see us being able to pay for everything out of our pockets. I'm 18 and I would just like some advice or suggestions that anyone may have!

The answer may vary by person. It would be a good idea to hear some of them and try to choose the best one. Here http://www.HealthInsuranceFreeTips.info/free-health-insurance.htm is a good one.

Can you recommend good books to read about health insurance?

I am shopping around trying to get the best deal for my health insurance. I work part-time and I am a full-time student. I'm a 23 year old female in good health, but I would like to get an insurance plan that's cheap and effective (if possible!) but I have no idea how to even begin searching. I really need help understanding how deductibles work! Thanks! :-)
--------------------
there are no books about it. you pay a certain dollar amount before benefits kick in. you then pay a certain percentage - say 20% - of the bill until you hit the out of pocket amount.

What percentage of companies provide health insurance to employees at no charge?

What percentage provide employees families with health insurance at no charge?
--------------------
These days not very many. USAA has a great plan. They put $3000 into an account for you per year for your health expenses. Ford Motor company also has excellent health benefits. Do your research before accepting any job. This aspect is very important!

Will I be able to keep my present health insurance plan under the new proposal?

I have good health care insurance through my employer. If the new health care plan goes through will I be able to keep my insurance or will I have to switch to the government provided plan?
--------------------
Congress still has different plans they are wrestling with. But you would be able to keep your employer provided plan under any of them.

Do you think it would be fair to have your health insurance costs tied to your income?

Why should a guy that makes $100k a year have to pay more for the same health insurance than a guy that makes $50k? That's what Obama's health care bill does.
--------------------
are you sure...well I guess we will see.

What happens if you don't have health insurance, after the new reforms kick into effect?

As I understand it, every US citizen "must have" health insurance one way or another. What happens to people who simply refuse to cooperate? Or can't afford to buy it and don't qualify for government assistance either, or can't afford the government assistance? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere and am curious what the consequences will be. Please no guesses, Obama rants, or other off topic responses, just an answer to the question
--------------------
The penalty is around $700 or 2.5% of your income (the larger), which is $2500 if you make $100,000 If your income is below a certain level or if the cheapest insurance would cost 8 percent of your income, no penalty would apply for lack of coverage (more than 3 months without insurance).
