It absolutely is NOT cheaper elsewhere. Look up what the taxes are in these countries. Pay particular attention to Sweden...32% employer tax (compared to our 7.5%), high income tax, AND a 25% (yes twenty five) sales tax. It's far more expensive everywhere else, AND you have to wait. The only con is that people will think they don't need coverage here and go without. Thinking the gov't can run anything properly is absurd.

What's the consequence if I lie about being a full-time student in order to get health insurance?
My father's health insurance runs through Cigna and his company covers people through the age of 25 if they are full-time students. They only ask to see verification of your course schedule. Last year I faxed the coordinator my schedule and was approved but I dropped the courses. This year I plan on taking a full-time fall/winter term schedule but they need verification by tomorrow. Can I lie and give them my proposed schedule or does that cause harsh penalties?

I am self-employed and can afford health insurance, but need a policy without preexisting condition exclusions, as are always included with single health insurance. Is there anyway to get in on a group plan without being employed by a large employer?
