Is it mandatory to take Health Insurance before approval stamp on my visa passport for UK as domestic worker i?

Is it mandatory to take Health Insurance before approval stamp on my visa passport for UK as domestic worker in a private household?
--------------------
As a matter of interest John, have you been offered a job and then been told that you have to buy health insurance before you come here? If this is so then you are being scammed because unless you are a citizen of a EEA (European Economic Area) country then you cannot come to the UK as a domestic worker because there is no visa that would allow you entry to this country as a domestic worker if you do not already work for the people who you will be working for here. All people who come to work in the UK are automatically covered by our National Health Service so there is no need whatsover for you to have to purchase health insurance...travel insurance for your journey here probably yes, but not health insurance.

How can I get my dad MY military health insurance?

I just completed Marine Corps Boot Camp, and now I'm home on Boot Leave. My dad just got sick and is in the hospital. He doesn't have health insurance. I know that almost all my benefits are available to my family, so how can I get my father my health insurance? Also, I don't even know what kind of insurance I have, I just assumed that since I'm military that I have health insurance. Please help
--------------------
Sorry you can't cover your dad with your health insurance. It would/will cover family members like your spouse or children, but it won't cover your parents or siblings [unless you have adopted your siblings or something like that]. Here is some more info http://www.military.com/benefits/tricare… edit- "tricare" is what the insurance is called, basically everyone in active duty has the same thing

Can a patient with no health insurance be denied an emergency surgery?

My dad was in a car accident and broke his back, he is in a hospital but now needs to be transported to a different hospital, but they are unsure if the new hospital will accept himbecause he does not have health insurance anymore. He has to have surgery or he may not be able to walk for months or ever again.
--------------------
Hospitals are required, by law, to provide emergency medical care to all patients, regardless of their financial status. If you have issues with the hospital, try speaking to a lawyer. His situation, though it may not be life threatening, would be considered an emergency. Medical emergencies are classified as a situation when your life, body parts or bodily functions are at risk of damage or loss unless immediate medical care is received. Most hospitals will have something posted about your medical rights that goes into the policy in greater depth

how do you get government health insurance ?

ive heard that there is help from the government to get help with health insurance for low income families how do you get something like that? where do you call or search for that?
--------------------
It's welfare health insurance, also called Medicaid. Each state has their own program. You can search "Idaho Medicaid" to find the website for YOUR state. Each state has a subsidiary program, called, Children's Health Insurance Plan, to insure just the children (and pregnant women), which has much more lenient income guidelines that "pure" Medicaid. Yes, you can insure just the children.

Is the Pill covered by health insurance in NY?

I've just moved to the US, I have Oxford Health Insurance provided by my work and need to buy the pill - does anyone know how much I should expect to pay and if I need a referral to start buying it here? Thanks for answering!
--------------------
Yes, it is covered, as long as you have a prescription you go to any participating pharmacy. Expect to pay at the very least top-tier of your prescription copay, if not more. (Newer ones like Lybrel are generally not covered or if they are, it's still expensive.) Oxford will strongly encourage you do to mail-away prescriptions - I personally hate those pharmacies, but that's your choice. You'd get three months' worth for two copays.

I was told by my health insurance company I overpaid my deductible?

My health insurance company sent me a check recently for $3000 and I was curious why and after I called them they said that I overpaid my deductible since I was in the hospital many times this year and had 2 surgeries. They told me that check they sent was mine to keep. It just seems strange, I've never heard of this before. Does this make sense to you?
--------------------
Yes it makes sense. You paid money you didn't have to so they are returning it. You called them and the company verified they sent the check so it isn't a scam. Go deposit it and congrats on the $3K, it will come in handy this time of year.

If US had no mandatory health insurance, is it OK for an ER to refuse treatment to someone bleeding to death?

Scenario: US citizen family have a car accident and all are bleeding to death. They opted not to get any health insurance and they do not have money or other assets to pay for $80,000 ER bill. Should the hospital (a) let them all die or (b) just let the parents die or (c) teat them but make them pay off the bill over the rest of their lives?
--------------------
It was under Reagan that the bill was passed making it illegal to deny emergency treatment at hospitals in America due to no insurance. It was this bill that allowed emergency rooms to become clinics, leading to the cost surges we have today.

Where these all name brand prescriptions going these days even we have health insurance?

Where these all name brand prescriptions going these days even we have health insurance at work and even people who has medicare+medicaid benefits? Most people these days getting generic brands only.who is getting name brand medicines and where they aer going if everyone is getting generic medicines?
--------------------
generics are must cheaper and same meds if you know the right places:)) so i do not see a reason to blow away money for the same pill. of course it is much bigger chance to get ripped if you buy generic drugs online, so as i said, must know the right places, never buy from a spam email, a call center , because they are just a bunch of thieves this is where i buy my pills, so far quite happy http://www.savemoneyrx.net

I am about to get married. Do I have to notify my health insurance or will they automatically know?

I am about to get married and was wondering if I have to notify my health and auto insurance of the change or if they will automatically know that I got married.
--------------------
After marriage, you need to notify your health insurance company. They should give you a certain amount of days to enroll your spouse, they will not automatically know. It depends on your insurance when your spouse will be covered, it might be date of marriage or it could be the first day of the next month I don't know about your auto insurance

Are employers required to provide health insurance to full-time employees?

My employer has over 10 people that work full-time (40+hours) and does not provide any health insurance, or the option to have it. Is this legal?
--------------------
Currently, it is legal in approximately 49 states. (It might be illegal in Massachusetts.) Most employers (except in Massachusetts) are not required to provide health insurance.

How would Obama's health reform affect the clients I already have on the books for health insurance?

My clients keep asking what is going to happen with their existing health insurance with all this health reform business. What can I respond? I hear different things. thanks
--------------------
Their private insurance will either disappear or they will be heavily taxed for keeping it ~ The public option penalty for no insurance will be less than the cost of insurance. If not insured, then you get sick, or have an accident, you will at that time, be able to get health insurance (no pre-existing). So cheaper for an employer to pay the fines, than insure the employees. So cheaper for the private citizen to pay the fine, rather than pay premiums that will be taxed. The real idea is to have the government soley responsible for health insurance and collect the fines (which in reality are taxes) to help pay for it. Tell them the truth, private insurance is better than government insurance and to contact their senators and congressmen.

Is it possible to get individual health insurance in Arkansas if you have sleep apnea?

I have sleep apnea which is well controlled through the use of a CPAP machine, but I was turned down for health insurance by Blue Cross Blue Shield because of it. I recently left a job through which I had health insurance and am now self employed and need to find an individual policy for myself.
--------------------
Talk to a local, independent agent about finding coverage that excludes the whole apnea situation. Try this site http://free-health-quote.blogspot.com/ Here you can get quotes from different health insurance companies in your area, its the best way to find an individual health insurance with a reliable company. Best Wishes,

Health insurance.....?

my place of work just change our insurance to a PPO...what is that..is it like an HMO?...god i hope not...
--------------------
PPO (Preferred Participating Organization) means that you can go to medical professionals within the Organization and receive care at a pre-negotiated price. If you go outside of this organization of medical professionals you may owe the whole amount. The mis-conception is that with these policies you can see anyone, but in reality most PPO's in the USA will pay little or nothing for services outside of contracted physicians or hospitals. Most PPO plans have Deductibles and also Co-insurance, when purchasing one ask what the max. out of pocket is (the amount when you stay within the network of physicians would be the most you would pay in one calendar year) Ex. if you have a 250. deductible 80/20 plan this means that when you see a doctor for x-rays and diagnostics you would pay the first 250.00 once this amount is paid you will also pay 20% of the charges up to the max. Every year this starts over, in the USA employers and Individuals are purchasing higher deductible PPO plans these are becoming popular because they are much much cheaper (in most cases 40-60%). HMO (health maintence organization) with these type of plans you first pick a primary care physician who receives pre-payment for services. In essence you are paying ahead of time to see the doctor, these types of plans are now very expensive since you are paying for services upfront. Visit your health insurance companies website for the doctor listings, and I would suggest calling ahead to verify that the doctor is still ont he Preferred Participating physician, they are constantly changing. Ultimately you do not want to end up with a big bill.

health insurance?

I am lookiing for personal health ins. I am 43 yr old woman in good health
--------------------
I used to sell health insurance. If I were looking right now, I would go through a broker. Just type health insurance into a search engine and the ads will go on forever. Also consider "discount plans". They aren't insurance, but have a network of providers that discount their services.

The insurance available on the internet looks fake. Does anyone know any genuine website/ company to get a short stay health insurance from? Thanks.

My sister is 23 and was had insurance with kaiser under my mother. Now that she is 23 she was removed and is trying to get back on. She has OCD and has been on prozac. No one will accept her, and she cant afford to buy the prozac anymore, and she cant stop taking it. Any advice or suggestions?
--------------------
Depending upon the time frame that she has been without coverage she may be eligible for a HIPAA health insurance plan. HIPAA plans are guaranteed issue individual health insurance plans that cannot refuse anyone who meets certain criteria for eligibility and the company must cover all pre-existing conditions. Either way you will want to have your sister compare rates from at least 3-5 different companies as underwriting standards do vary from one company to the next. Here is some more information on HIPAA health insurance plans:

Health insurance?

So I'm 19 and I'm 4 weeks pregnant. I have a blood test on Thursday to confirm but one thing I have been worried about is when I tell my mother. I know what you are thinking that she is my mom she loves me she will help me bla bla bla, but you dont know my mother. I dont doubt that she will kick me out once I tell her, so what I am wondering is what do I do about health insurance then? Cuz I'm pretty sure having a baby is kind of expensive. I cannot afford insurance and my fiance and I aren't expecting too much help from our other parents. What are my options?
--------------------
you should definitely apply for Pregnancy Medicaid. that's what i did and i covers %100 of you costs and 6 months after the baby is born so you can take it to the initial doctors appointments. just google the Medicaid office in your area, fill out an application and you should be set! good luck with your mom and everything!

health insurance?

i have PPO option with a $1500 deductible with co-insurance (no co-pay). What does co-insurance mean? Would I have to bear the expenses for the 1st $1500 I spend for my health treatment/prevention?
--------------------
The deductible is the part that you have to pay first before the company will pay. After the deductible is met, then the coinsurance kicks in. If your coinsurance is 80/20, then it means the insurance company will pay 80% of the bill and you pay 20%. It really depends on the plan how it works though. Sometimes you just pay a set fee to go to the doctor (like $35) and then if there are any expenses after that, the coinsurance kicks in.

hello...i am 33 year old and going to school full-time. anyone out there know any cheap health insurance that i can apply for? i am mostly healthy but just in case. plus does the government support full-time students with at least health insurance? i am from memphis tn are. thank you!!!
--------------------
There are hundreds of plans available. You should call or visit a local independent agent that works with the major plans in your area. The agent can find a plan that's best for your situation and budget. The plans and premiums are exactly the same whether you use an agent or not. Since you are mostly healthy you may want to consider a higher deductible plan that allows your doctor visits and prescriptions for a co-pay without meeting your deductible. The deductible will come into play if you have to go into the hospital. The agent will also be able to explain more fully.

i'm tryna find a good company to go through to get health insurance. do any of you know a good company to use for a decent price?
--------------------
Pricing is pretty much all the same - you get what you pay for. For a good company, you should look for a LOCAL AGENT. If someone here recommends someone who doesn't do business in your state, well, that does you NO GOOD. You need to buy local.

health insurance?

i am a college student. and i only have a part time job. and my free health insurance was recently taken away from me. i looked at other insurances but they were all out of my budget. what do i do in this situation?
--------------------
Look around for a free clinic in your area. Look to your college - most colleges (if not all) have some sort of basic health coverage for cases you're ever severely injured. Summer is coming and classes should be over. See if you can go full time at your job and pick up your own health benefits. Other than that make sure to stay really healthy until you graduate and get benefits on your own.
