I am a full time college student, and my school offers insurance, but it is expensive. I need basic health care to cover doctors visits, specialist visits, and x rays. The main reason I need coverage is that my back is messed up from a car accident about a year and a half ago and I can't take the pain anymore. I went to my states website and the insurance they offer is currently not accepting applications. I have looked at tons of sites online, but so far am having no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Why are Republicans OK with people dying due to not having adequate health insurance?
'I don't want to pay for someone else's health' and they themselves won't complain if they lost their health insurance and got a catastrophic illness. Riiight.

If people CHOOSE not to mitigate their risk, they'll have to deal w/ the consequences. For those who can't afford it, there's medicaid/s-chip/state programs/etc. etc.. There are four necessities in life: 1. Water 2. Food 3. Health Insurance 4. Shelter Anything beyond these 4 necessities is considered a luxury. I'd keep them in that order.

are car payments and health and car insurance considered a utility when applying for food stamp benefits?
I am trying to apply for food stamps and am not sure if my car payment, car insurance, and health insurance count towards my utilities. I really need these stamps, until my employers can give me more work hours, so I want to give as much detailed information as possible on my food stamp application, without filling it our incorrectly. Also, do you know if receiving food stamps can potentially ruin your credit?

I need health insurance sooo bad and I'm a broke college student with poor parents. What am I going to do? I think I have appendicitis and its so painful. My brother is divorced and pays child support and provides health insurance for his 2 kids. One of his minor daughters just gave birth to a baby. Will he be required to provide health insurance for the baby of his dependent, or will the State of Texas require the baby's father to "step up"?

I read this story today: "The Obama administration is asking Anthem Blue Cross to justify its plans to raise health insurance premiums..." "Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sent a letter to the company's president on Monday calling the planned increases extraordinary and difficult to understand. She wrote that the company has an obligation to provided a detailed justification for the rate hikes to the public." I thought that health insurers were state regulated and regulated by the NAIC--not the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Anthem is in California if that makes a difference.
