What percentage of employees health insurance will employers be required to pay under Obamacare?

Is there a maximum deductible allowed?
--------------------
If private insurance does not meet every demand by the govt. than they can't sell their insurance. It will be cheaper for companies to drop their current insurance and pay a fine. This would push/force employees on to obamacare because private insurance would skyrocket. If the employee/citizen chooses not to have insurance than they will be sent to prison. This was done on purpose to create a single-payer system. The progressives don't care about health care, it is all about power and control.

Can I have a dependent care FSA for child care expenses & an HSA with a HDHP health insurance plan?

I know there are specific limitations regarding medical FSA's and such but I wasn't sure regarding dependent care. My wife and I have a High Deductible Health Plan and HSA through her work and we are having a child soon so we are considering the dependent care FSA through his work for upcoming day care expenses and such but we don't want to get hit on taxes or do anything that would effect the medical side. Any accountants and tax professionals with advice? Thanks!
--------------------
You can have both; the FSA will not affect the HSA. Here is the IRS publication for information on both plans: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p969.pdf

Does a man have a right to control what his wife eats if he pays her health insurance?

For example, if she is a stay at home mom and he works full time and pays extra money to have her put on his insurance. I say this because eating right is an important part of being healthy and to be honest I don't want my future wife to be overweight.

As long as she can control when you take a cr*p since she cleans your toilets.

How much choice do Americans have for health insurance providers at the present time?

Doesn't it depend on what state you are in whether you have more than one or two choices?

Correctamundo! I live in a urban California city and I really can only pick from 3 companies who basically share information and charge about the same.

How difficult is the CA Life and Health Insurance exam?

Has anybody taken it? What score do you need to get to pass? Any other tips would be helpful too!

If you study the material or do a cram course, you should be ok.One thing that helped me, before answering anything skip every question. Once at the end, go back and start at the beginning. All answers are locked in, the computer won't throw any other questions at you that you miss. Piece of cake

How do I go about finding a health insurance provider for my employees?

I recently start my own company and I am in the process of higher indepedant contractors. I understand that they are INDEPENDENT contractors, but I wanted to at least be able to direct them to a good provider.
--------------------
Look around for benefit brokers in your area. They work with the insurance companies to put together the best deal for your employees. Most are smaller - local to your area and familiar with the offerings in your area - so I can't name names! Check with your local chamber of commerce or HR group (check out shrm.org for that group) as the benefit brokers are targeting those groups and you'll be able to find references to the better ones! However if your employees are actually independent contractors - they're not employees - you are paying them without taking out taxes - they are responsible for paying all of their own taxes (SS, Medicare, etc) - so you don't need to offer them benefits...and most independent contractors (if they truly work on their own) find their own source of benefits.

united health care insurance to cover prescription drug?

i just got a short term insurance to help me cover the cost of accutane? does anyone know how much? and if it is worth it? if not does anyone know any better health insurance plans to help me cover for it?
--------------------
Short term policies generally do not cover pre-existing conditions and most don't cover anything until you reach the deductible. A short term policy is only meant for catastrophic coverage while you are between permanent policies. The United Health policy specifically states that it does't cover any condition which you've received treatment for within the last 24 months. You will need to get a permanent policy to cover the accutane. However, depending upon why you are taking the accutane the policy may not cover it as a pre-existing condition for a period of time, which can be a year or more, or they may decline to cover you at all. You'll need to talk with a local independent agent to find a plan that's best for your situation. Do not try to do this on the internet because you'll end up in the same situation as you're in now. There is a free prescription drug card that may give you some help while you're trying to find another policy. You can sign up for it here http://drugcardamerica.com/index.aspx?af… and print the card directly from your computer. Since it's free it doesn't hurt to try.

Is it true when my sisters boyfriend says he can't get health insurance for their child?

My sisters boyfriend works in a union job construction and has been there for over a year. He can get insurance but says he is not allowed to get it for their 8 month old baby. Is this true?
--------------------
Most insurance companies make you add the baby within 30 days of birth, or wait for open enrollment for that particular company. I agree with the rest of the answerers that he probably has to have some sort of documentation saying it's HIS kid, but not with the part about proof it lives with him. Lots of people have to provide insurance for their kids, who are living with another parent (divorce, etc.).

Who pays for the president his family and that of Congress' health insurance?

The general public cannot afford from some of the hospitals our elected officials receive care at, how can the public receive the same care our elected officials receive? Is the taxpayer providing our elected officials insurance we cannot receive?
--------------------
Taypayers pay 75 percent of Congress. They pay 25 percent. The President's is paid by the taxpayer fully. It has been a while since I checked but I am still about right. Several months ago they voted to increase their retirement benefits by 15 percent. http://factcheck.org/2009/08/health-care…

What kind of health insurance can cover or help cove Accutane (for Acne)?

i am kind of poor but i have horrible acne. i have had it since my freshman year in high school and now i am on my way to college. I just want to know about any cheap health insurance that covers or helps cover Accutane (powerful medication for acne) my acne is sever people please help.
--------------------
Since acne is not a cosmetic disorder, but a disease of the sebaceous gland unit, most insurance plans would cover the treatment of it. However, you should read the policy carefully before you sign up; and in addition, make sure that your acne isn'lt considered a "preceding condition" and hence make you unable to get coverage for it.

Would you want the same health insurance as your Congressman or Senator?

Their insurance premium is under $600. per year. Subsidized by tax revenues. Are you going to vote again for those who voted against the public option?
--------------------
The public option is *not* an option and if this so called health care bill is so great, with or without the public option, exactly why is it that the members of congress have written themselves an exemption ? Is it because they don't want to be subjected to the same rules as we will have to follow? perhaps they want to insure that they will always be able to get decent health care ? You can give me the same health care that they have and the same exemption at the same cost (zero) and I will take it. You give me the same retirement benefits that they get after serving only one term, which is their annual salary + 50% of their salary for their spouse for the rest of their lives, I will take that as well. I am going to vote against anyone that votes in favor of this ridiculous health care bill. At this point I am ready to vote against any incumbent so the next set to come in remember that the first words of the constitution starts with "We the People" . These idiots in congress need to be reminded that they work for us, it is not the other way around.

Does anyone know if I can get a better deal on international health insurance if I go through a third party?

I would like to use IHI (International Heath Insurance Denmark). I am told IHI is the best in the business, but they are pricey and was wondering if there was anyway to get a lower price than what they advertise on their web page.
--------------------
If you're a 39 year old US citizen, you can get coverage for $53 for 1 month with a $1000 deductible through Lloyd's. This is a reimbursement plan and also covers emergency return trip coverage. I have no idea what IHI is advertising.

why is group health insurance better than individual?

My employer is offering group insurance. My individual insurance seems like a better deal but everyone keeps saying group is better? Why is this?
--------------------
It's like size 10 jeans; Might be the best fit for someone else, but it's not necessarily the best fit for EVERYONE. Here's the scoop on group health insurance: you take everyone in the group, lump them together, and AVERAGE the price for their insurance. Group coverage actually costs MORE than private coverage. Additionally, on a group policy, YOU don't get to choose your coverage - your boss does (or at least, they pick the plan). And, usually the employer kicks in about half the cost. Additionally, they have to accept EVERYONE who is an employee, on the group. If an employee is newly added, and they don't have prior coverage, they can STILL exclude coverage for preexisting conditions for up to 18 months. Lastly, there are some coverages you can get on grouip policies that are almost impossible to get on private policies - like coverage for maternity, and/or infertility issues. Don't confuse "prediagnosed" with "preexisting". If the sypmtoms are there NOW, and you don't have insurance NOW, then the condition IS preexisting. On the down side, unless you're newly eligible for group coverage, you can only "sign on" during open enrollment - once a year. Unless you plan on keeping your job forever, or flat out aren't eligible for private health insurance, if the coverage on a private policy is much less expensive for the same coverage (which isn't uncommon, if you're under 30), there's really not much of an advantage to take the group plan.

what is the difference between HMO & HSA & PPO health insurance plans? and which one is better to have?

My husband and I do not have health insurance and were trying to get pregnant. I really need to purchase a good health insurance plan. I was thinking of choosing Kaiser. And I have no clue about the health insurance lingo. Can someone help me. Sincerely, Jennifer
--------------------
The basic differences: With an HMO you must select a primary care doctor, and must get referrals from that doctor to see a specialist. If you want to change primary care doctors you must first notify the insurance company and cannot see the new doctor until the change has been processed. You cannot go outside of the doctor network except in emergencies. In general, the premium will be higher but your cost when you use medical services will be lower. With a PPO you do not have to select a primary care doctor and you do not have to get a referral to see a specialist. You can go outside of the network although your cost may be higher. An HSA is just a PPO that has a higher deductible and allows you to open up a health savings account that works much like an IRA. My advice would be to visit a local agent that works with Kaiser as well as all of the other major companies in your area. The agent can find the best plan for your situation and budget. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with each policy and can answer all of your questions. There is no extra charge using an agent. Be aware that with individual policies there will be a waiting period for maternity coverage. The agent can explain how long this waiting period will be with each different policy.

Are we Americans being turned into health insurance suckers?

P. T. Barnum one said, "There's a sucker born every minute." It seems to me that we Americans have been made to feel so imperiled if we don't have health insurance, we forget to demand high enough wages so we can afford to pay for it on our own. Corporate America has taken over the entire country and the rest of us are just a bunch of slobs begging for scraps.
--------------------
You got that right! Have spend about 15% of my salary just for my health coverage! and I'm healthy! Its a complete RIP!

Is the fact that everybody has to get health insurance true yet?

Before I could only get insurance thru my parents or job, because I have a pre-existing heart problem. Am I able to get it yet without using my job's or parent's? How?
--------------------
Many states currently have high risk pools available. The health care bill will have a national high risk pool that was supposed to be in effect July 1 but which has been delayed. The portion of the bill allowing that all policies are guaranteed issue, which is what you are asking about, will go into effect in 2014.

If Obamacare passes, how long will it take health insurance companies to go bankrupt?

forcing insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions will bankrupt them. how long will it take?
--------------------
They will have more business. They won't go bankrupt. plus, pre-existing conditions don't always result in higher costs.
