Can any single people tell me what they pay for health insurance?

I want to know how much before I call an insurance company. I dont know where the money is going to come from. Someone else isnt going to get paid if I have to pay for health insurance.
--------------------
I pay $87 per month, and that without the federal subsidy that was just enacted and will reduce the cost. The "someone" who will not get paid by you is the doctors and hospitals who you would have to pay if you did not get health insurance. (They will still get paid, but by the health insurance company.) With the federal subsidies, health insurance will cost less than it currently costs not to have it.

what are peoples experience with health insurance companies?

I am curious about peoples experience in dealing with health insurance companies good and bad. Please tell me.
--------------------
If you have a trustworthy company, you should have a relatively good experience. However, you have to watch out for the fact that some companies aren't as trustworthy as other. Then also, you have to figure out what type of plan you are going with. If you have a PPO with a quality insurer, or an HMO with a quality insurer, you should have relatively good experience. However, you should realize that PPOs and HMOs work differently. Also, realize that coverage for certain things may be limited or excluded by certain plans. (I am waiting to see if certain tests that were ordered by my doctor will be covered. If not, I will have to pay as much as $3000 for them. All I know so far, is that certain parts of the tests will not be paid because they are excluded. They won't tell me until they have the actual bill if the rest will be or not. I have a very reputable insurer, but this still happens. It is just one of those limitations.) Research any company that you are considering. Also, ask what experience other people have had with any particular company. I can tell you from experience, that a certain company associated with a particular color and another company known for its "principles" are both reliable companies. Another company known for its tractors is fairly well respected.

Does anyone know of any good health insurance in Florida?

I am employed but they will not offer me health insurance right away. I need medical insurance as soon as possible. If anyone has any details please get back!
--------------------
It doesn't work that way. States don't have their own insurances. The companies that are out there are nationwide. It will be VERY expensive to get a policy for yourself. Hundreds of dollars a month. Try to get COBRA from your past employer if you can. Still expensive, but not as bad as trying to get one by yourself. Just wait for the new insurance to kick in. If you are on maintenance medications (birth control, blood pressure) then ask the doctor to just call in refills for you. Find the least expensive pharmacy in your area and pay cash until your new insurance kicks in.

Can you name any specific health care costs or health insurance premiums ?

1) Can you name any specific health care costs or health insurance premiums that have decreased as a result of Obamacare ? 2) Can you name any specific health care costs or health insurance premiums that have not increased following Obamacare ?
--------------------
Nope. Didn't Obama say his policies would not cost middle class one penny more? Are we a lie'n king of Bull$hitiing here Mr. Obama? My wife is less than $55 k a year and her insurance just sent her and her company a notice that due to your Bamcare new law, they're raising her deducted premium will increase by 35% starting in Jan. Her primary care doctor has a new notice in his window effective Jan. where co-payments will increase $10 per visit. Way to go Bama with your truth tellin'. 27 days and it starts......Nov. 2012, it ends. And you're done!

My neigbor complains constantly about his lack of health insurance?

But he does have 2 boats, nice car, pickup truck (gas guzzler), large flat TV, laptop, dsl, atv, recent home remodel, Central AC, rec room with pool table and stocked bar, dinner out every week, riding mower (I push mine). Is it wrong for me to not want to pay for his health insurance? I have no problem helping the needy, and I often do through charities.

Your neighbor, like most (not all, before we're deluged with sob stories about how unfair life is) who have no health insurance, has a problem with his priorities. His family's welfare should come before beer.

Why would liberals rather pay a higher percentage of their income on taxes than they would on health insurance?

I had an answer to one of my health care questions the other day from someone who was talking about having to pay 25% of his income for health insurance. Won't he be paying 25% of his income to the government if this thing goes through? Where is the change here?
--------------------
Many of them believe that they will not be paying the same amount of money or more. They believe that "rich" and "wealthy" people will be paying higher taxes, which will cover the cost of this insurance.

What kind of trouble can I get in if I still use my X-husbands Health Insurance?

My husband and I will be divorced soon. He said he wouldn't notify his employer that we are divorced right away, so I continue on his health Insurance, even for just 6 months. What kind of trouble can we get in for this?
--------------------
It doesn't matter when he tells them - they will cancel your coverage retroactively back to the date of your divorce. (That was the date you became ineligible.) If the insurance company paid any claims for you in the meantime, they will retract all payments from your medical providers. Your medical providers will come after you for full payment. And, of course, your soon-to-be ex-husband could get in trouble with his employer for attempting to defraud them. P.S. Even if the insurance company doesn't find out you've been divorced for years, they can go back and retroactively cancel you to the date of your divorce. You're much better off finding coverage that you are actually eligible for now, because your plan will come back to bite you in the end.

how long can i be with out health insurance if i lose my job & have a prexisting conditing & get another job ?

I will be losing my health insurance soon cause my employment is being sold off . How long do i have to get me another job with health benifites that takes my preexisting condition . ( M.S ) ? How does group health & all that work ? Does group health have to take my preexisting condition ? Thanks !
--------------------
Check with your employer and see if they will be offering COBRA. Since there must be a similar policy for active employees for COBRA to be offered, I'm not sure in this case. Here is a good site for more info: http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/faqs/faq_consume… If they are not going to offer COBRA-federal law says that your new employer (if they offer health insurance) must cover you without a pre-existing clause if the break in coverage has been no longer than 63 days. Here is the site that can probably answer more of your question: http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/faqs/faq_consume… Good luck!

Liberals, can I have permission to cancel my health insurance?

I personally don't want health insurance. I am in my late 20's, have a healthy lifestyle and don't do anything to where I may be seriously injured. I have auto insurance so I will be covered if I wreck my 1974 Gremlin into something. Can I please just choose not to have health insurance, mighty liberals?

NO! people like you are the problem. Take your choice, jail or Obama's personal servant?

What is the best type of post-college/pre-job health insurance?

I just graduated from college and will go off of my parents' health insurance at the end of May. I do not have a job yet, so I'm looking for an independent policy. I am healthy, have no risk factors (smoking/drinking/previous illness), and I'm about to be 22 years old. Please, only answer if you have personal experience. I don't want random internet searches, I can do those myself.
--------------------
Go to www.ShortTermHealthPlan.com You can get quotes, apply online, and print out your policy on the spot. An average, healthy college student would probably want the Secure STM. It is by an "A" rated carrier, and in most states offers unlimited rewrites, in case you still need it next year. It also comes with discounts on things not typically covered by other STM plans, including discounts on vision, dental, and prescriptions. Additionally, it has very liberal height and weight requirements. There are also plans available at that sight for people who have a hard time finding health insurance, because of things like type 2 diabetes, DUI's, or if they have been declined for health insurance in the past.

Would I pay more for surgery with out of state health insurance?

I live in Mass and have New Hampshire health insurance (Blue Cross) because I work in NH. I've been going to a back doctor in MA. Will I get screwed if I get surgery in a MA hospital or am I better off going to a doctor in NH?
--------------------
That is up to the insurance company, some are nationwide and it doesn't matter, but your human resource employee should be able to tell you if there will be a difference.

What to do if you can't afford health insurance?

I cannot get health insurance at my work so I have been paying out of pocket for an individual PPO Policy with Blue Cross. Every year the premium goes up so I raise my deductible. I now have a high deductible and the premium has gone up so high I can't afford it. I have pre-existing conditions and can't change companies either. What do I do?? I can't afford to not have insurance but I can't afford to have insurance either.
--------------------
There are many people who find themselves in the same situation. I would suggest that you contact your agent or Blue Cross directly and ask them if they have a high deductible health plan that would qualify you for a Health Savings Account. Since you have a high deductible already, you might as well take advantage of the tax advantages of a Health Savings Account. The plans that BC/BS sells in CT also show a savings in premium when the plan is HSA-qualified.

Where can I get a job part time (in school) and still be able to get health insurance?

Does any health insurance company cover someone who was diagnosed clinically depressed?

A friend of mine was depressed, had some therapy, and is now taking medication. She is now uninsured, being declined by Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Does anyone have any ideas on how she can get health insurance? She lives in the formerly great state of California.
--------------------
The information given by Stephen looks pretty good. She might have to pay a lot but she will be insured. She can always go to a community health clinic which is on a sliding scale if she does not have much money. Why doesn't she apply at Kaiser?

How do I take care of a pinched sciatic nerve with no health insurance?

If I don't have health insurance, should I still see a doctor if I think I have a pinched sciatic nerve? By the way im a 24 y.o. male
--------------------
I have had sciatic problems, I had 2 herniated discs that required surgery, I'm lucky that I am on my husbands insurance, but I'll tell you what I've learned from all the stuff I went through. First, you are probably having muscle spasms, when we injure our backs the muscles tense up in an attempt to protect the spine, however for some reason even after the injury is healed the muscles won't relax and this can cause sciatic pain, lay on a heating pad for 20 minutes every couple of hours if possible, the heat will help to tell the muscles to relax, ice only reduces swelling, it doesn't relax muscles. Second, take tylenol or it's generic acetaminophen as directed, this is a great anti inflammatory, and it clears your body through your liver so it won't upset your stomach. third, don't bend at the waist, if in fact your sciatic pain is being caused by a disc herniation bending could make it worse, bend with your knees, I know it's hard to do when you have that kind of pain, but believe me having to have spinal fusion is worse. Fourth, don't twist/ turn at the waist, again it's for the same reason as bending, turn your whole body. Fifth, don't lift more then 10-15 lbs, this falls into the muscle and disc area, you don't want to stress your muscles anymore then they are and you don't want to herniate or make a herniated disc worse, and lastly if none of this helps try contacting your local government and see if there is a free clinic, or some sort of income based health plan you can get on, because you might need to see a doctor and dealing with the back is expensive. If you have to see a doctor talk to the office and tell them you are uninsured some doctors offices will charge reduced prices, or will work with you on payment plans. I wish you all the best and I hope I was some help to you, good luck.

How much of a discount a small group employer get on my health insurance?

If I was quoted $1100 a month for individual health insurance (Premera Blue Cross) buying it myself would my small employer get a big discount if they buy it for me. How much roughly would he pay?
--------------------
Group plans are fundamentally different from individual plans. An employer can "shop around" for quotes from several health insurers based on the size of it's "group." This is what commercial insurance brokers do. The employer is not going to buy the same individual plan you were offered.

Will son lose Medicaid if I get health insurance through work?

My employer is just now offering health coverage at work. I would like to enroll for myself, but to enroll my son it would just be too much. Would I be able to enroll in the health coverage without Medicaid cancelling my sons health insurance through them?
