If I send my son to live with his Grandparents in the US, can they add him to their health insurance?

Or what other options do we have to insure him? He is really suffering in the German school system, and I am desperate to get him out. My parents have offered to take him to finish the school year, but I am worried about what would happen if he got sick during the next few months.
--------------------
The answer to this question depends upon the insurance laws in his grandparent's state of residence. For example, in my state, a grandparent can add a grandchild to an existing group or individual policy only if the child is: in the court-ordered custody of the grandparent(s); unmarried; resides only with the grandparent(s); is completely financially dependent upon the grandparent(s); and is below the limiting age for dependents. Many states have statutes that are similar. While your son might meet most of these qualifications, the problematic one is the first criteria: you would have to give up custody of your child, which doesn't sound like it's an option to you. (Please note, "court-ordered custody" is usually permanent; "guardianship" is temporary, so they're not the same.) I suggest you have your parents call the insurance commissioner in the state where they reside AND speak with their insurer. Once you have this information, you can think about this option further.

If drug companies are going to be taxed to pay for health insurance, how will that not be passed on to me?

After all, in the end, I pay for all my medical care and prescriptions.

it will be passed along to all consumers of modern western medicine suckers!

Do you like your health insurance company?

Do you appreciate the plan you have? I have an HMO and it's ok, not that I have any other choice, and it costs $500 per month.
--------------------
Yes, but I'm sure it could be improved upon! Tort reform would take a huge bite out of the cost so I can't understand why our representatives won't consider this action! Our health care system isn't perfect, but it is way better than the program proposed by the Congress and Obama!

had a company that was supposed to be a grant company turned out that they said i agreed to health insurance?

i work for a hostpital so i have coverage and now they won't return my 299,00 dollars back or send a package that was to be here in 7 weeks .it's going on 8 now.
--------------------
Sounds fishy to me contact your states insurance commissioner. http://www.naic.org/state_web_map.htm Insurance is regulated and you are allowed a 10 to 30 day free look in which you can cancel and get a full refund. This period doe snot start until you receive your policy. It may a total scam and not even be insurance.

On w2 should boxes 1,3,5 and 16 be the same if you paid health insurance premiums pre tax?

My w2 has box 1 highest wages and the rest of the boxes are lower amounts.
--------------------
health insurance premiums may be free of income tax, but are not free of social insurance taxes [Social Security and Medicare] unless you are a qualified religious person, etc..

Why do employers buy health insurance?

If people bought for themselves wouldn't they shop for better bargains? Employers can just buy anything and the employees can either quit or just accept it.
--------------------
It originally began after WWII, during a wage freeze. The only way to move people was to offer some non-salary benefit. Thus, employers began offering "major medical". Logan, there is nothing immoral about not providing healthcare to your employees. I think it's great you do, but the only immoral thing would be to not give them something you promised. You owe them only what you promise them, no more, no less. Also, they owe you their work in exchange for pay; no more, no less.

I have not had a period for 3 months and i have no health insurance?

I just need to know if the local health dept would be a good place to go. I just had a baby 6 months ago and was not trying to get pregnant, I have taken 2 tests one in june and one just a couple days ago, they both were negative. Would the health dept be able to tell whats going on with my body? I dont feel pregnant.
--------------------
well girlie, First I want to suggest that you go to the local health dept. They can usually give you free information about that, and possibly(if need be) give you Birth control. Keep in mind though, that you will want to request a preggers test as well, because you can always have a false negative pregnancy test! But, for the most part i wouldn't worry because you just had a baby. I went almost 4 mths without a preiod after my daughter!

To anyone knows anything about health insurance please answer this question!?

If I have to pick a primary care physician, do I have to go to them every time or can I go anywhere that takes my health Insurance?? thanks
--------------------
You have to pick a primary care physician if your health plan is a HMO-Health Maintenance Organization. To see any other Dr's. you would have to have a referral from your primary care physician. If it's a PPO-Preferred Provider Organization you can see any Dr. in the plan. In the case of an actual emergency you can go to ANY hospital and they have to accept you-whether they are part of the plan or not. Key word being TRUE emergency not a sore throat you had for a month.

Can someone please tell me about the Obama health insurance plan this November? I'm new to this.?

My dad told me about a plan starting in November that allows children onto their parent's health insurance. This is important to me because I was planning on getting a rhinoplasty to fix my deviated septum as soon as it is possible, which would be covered by insurance. How does this all work? When does this plan start and how long after I am on it can I use it and get the surgery? Also, does anyone have any information on how insurance for rhinoplasties work?
--------------------
First off - you don't repair a deviated septum with a rhinoplasty. The surgery to repair a deviated septum does NOT change the appearance of your nose in any way. They go in through your nostril and repair the septum. They then put splints inside your nose. The splints are not visible to someone just looking at you. You keep those in for about a week. They they remove them. Insurance will not pay for a rhinoplasty to repair your deviated septum. The surgery to repair a deviated septum is called a septoplasty. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/repai… In order for it to be covered by insurance- you go see an ENT. The dr will examine you and may want a CT scan. If the blockage is bad enough, he then notifies the health insurance and gets approval for the surgery. You want to make sure the hospital the ENT uses and the anesthesiologist are also on your health plan. You will have to pay your deductible and co-pays.

Would the republicans be happy if people were allowed to opt out of mandatory health insurance?

but then could never discharge medical bills in bankruptcy, could never opt into the exchange in the future, would never be protected from insurance companies practices, and could never get any subsidized medical benefits.

we would be happy if we could opt out of having barry and nancy screw us at every turn

Is Clomid covered by most health insurance providers?

Does anyone know the estimated cost for someone with health insurance?
--------------------
I found one article (link below) that cited a survey showing that 44 percent of private insurers and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans cover clomid and 67 percent of HMOs cover clomid. However, I could not locate the original survey and it is from 1993, so the data is probably obsolete. I would think that it's gotten easier to receive infertility treatment under your insurance plan since 1993, though. The International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination has a page (link below) on possible insurers that will cover infertility treatments (through employers). I've also included a link to a page from the American Fertility Association that lists recommendations about what to look for in an insurance plan that covers infertility treatment. Walgreens has Clomid 50mg tablets: 10 EA $134.9930 EA $392.89 Walgreens has generic equivalent Comiphene Citrate 50mg tablets: 10 EA $44.9930 EA $113.69 Check out MostChoice.com. What do you do if you don't have health insurance?

I need to have some dental surgeries done and I don't have the money to pay for them. My wisdom teeth are growing in and pushing my other teeth out of the way. It is very painful and ruining my teeth. How do you pay for something like this if you are a 21 year old college student with no money and no parents?
--------------------
Health Insurance CAN pay for wisdom teeth to come out, but it depends on the circumstances. I just had a client with Aetna pay to get them out. However, you don't have health insurance so it's too late for you. You need to pay out of pocket. You can also contact a dental school to see if you can get it on the cheap. When it's done go get some health insurance. It's not expensive and it's not nearly as expensive as needing it and not having it.

Has ANYONE thought about this ONE item, about the current health insurance bill?

Like if it's the 'hot ticket' for the population of the United states, will the house of representatives & the executive branch be required to purchase said insurance also, or be fined & go to jail??? I mean what's good for the goose is good for the gander! right?
--------------------
It's been thought about and asked, and has been rather conveniently avoided by ALL politicians. Greed, selfishness, corruption, and political aspirations have no party bias.

It's pretty restricted to the insurance and finance industry. A bank might have need for you but mostly in an agency of some sort.

Anyone know of cheap health insurance for NYS?

I am looking for cheap health insurance for New York State into the 12953 area.
--------------------
New York doesn't let insurance companies charge lower rates to younger people and higher rates to older people. So if you're young, it's overpriced; if you're old, it's underpriced. Since younger people don't want to pay higher than they need, they often go without, which drives the cost up even further. Social policy at its finest. Fewer people insured and higher rates.

No health insurance, should I go to the ER?

I am 32yo, and have this awful sensation in my left leg. I dont have health insurance, so it means a trip to the ER. Which I try to avoid at all costs!! (literally). I have numbness! It feels like about 70% numbness from the knee down to the toes, and from the knee up to my lower back and down to the right leg, about 20%. I have no idea what is causing it, which is the scary part. I dont think it is an emergency, that deems a trip to the ER, but could it be something serious? Any idea guys.....??? Thanks!!
--------------------
You could have a number of things wrong. It could be a pinched nerve. Or it could be a blood clot cutting off the blood circulation. You should go. They will bill you. Pay even a dollar a month. They can't do anything to you as long as you are trying. It might take a long time to pay but at least if it is something dangerous like a clot, you can get help.

What makes health insurance so "unaffordable" and to "expensive"?

Is it the doctors who still have student loans to pay off? Is that why they're incredibly expensive? Why?
--------------------
There are many reasons, including; Indigent care, malpractice lawsuits, pharmaceutical profits, taxes, uninsurable people (like me; private health insurance is way too expensive for me due to a preexisting condition that is actually quite easily controlled), license fees, and that's just a start.

How affordable health insurance be a nigh that is guaranteed by the Government for all citizens?

Resident now Citizens? Unregistered or illegal residents? thanks!!!!
--------------------
You cannot create a "right" to health insurance -- or any other purchase -- without creating the obligation for someone else to provide it to you. You'll notice you have a right to free speech and to bear arms. But you don't have a right to time on TV to speak your mind or to be furnished a rifle.
