Will health insurance cover prescriptions written by out of network doctor?

I founda really good doctor that is out of network. I don't mind paying the visits or the labs, but if he writes prescriptions, can I still take them to walgreens and get them filled under my insurance plan? Or does the doctor writing the prescriptions have to be in the network? Thanks
--------------------
Yes, your choice of doctor will not affect your coverage for prescription meds and you can still get them filled at Walgreens.

Can I get WIC even though I pay for my own Health Insurance?

Can I have WIC even though I am planning to get married and go under "his insurance"?
--------------------
I don't think WIC is for health matters. It provides assistance for food. If your income is low enough then you can qualify. My sister had it and she got all her formula, milk, cereal, cheese, bread, etc. BTW, you have to have a child to get WIC as well.

Can online students still be covered for health insurance under parents plan?

I'm under my parents health plan and i turn 19 in January and thats when my coverage will be terminated unless I show proof im still a "full time student".. Im currently enrolled in college but online.. Does this still qualify under full time student?
--------------------
I would think it does, but there is usually a credit hour amount that has to be met to be full-time and I am unsure how online courses are. If they are also credit hours, just like normal school and you're full-time, then you should be ok.

How to see a physical therapist without health insurance?

I have a problem with my shoulder/collarbone. Does anyone know I can see a physical therapist without insurance?? Preferably MA or NH
--------------------
Ys you can but it will be expensive, because insurance essentially pays a portion of the bill. You can work out payment plans with doctors but they will need a lot of information. You can go to a major hospital, but you should be ready to wait in a long line for a long time. Try to go on a monday afternoon when there might be less people. I didn't have insurance until I got injured and went to a hospital. I live in a big city and because my injuries were not life threatening, I waited 12 hours. They cannot turn you away and must treat you. If your problem is something you can live with, try to get insurance even if just for a while. Starbucks offers insurance to employees of at least three months and insurance is something like $25 a month.

How do I prove that I don't have any health insurance?

I need to prove that I don' have any health insurance...how do I do that? (I am a college student) Thanks
--------------------
Telling them should be enough. What I don't understand, why do you have to prove it? If you are in college, and not working, and your parents are your soul supporter, and they have insurance and you are under twenty five, then you do have insurance. Otherwise you must be working and they think you have insurance from your employer. If that's the case, just have them check with your employer. Good luck

Obama plays dirty trick again re his millions false health insurance emails?

Obama had the push polls before the new hampshire election, trying to spready false rumours against hillary, in the guise of polling. Then, he raised the race card to get the black votes before the South Carolina election. Now, before the super tuesday election, he sent out millions of false emails attacking Hillary's health care plan, while obama's plan is definitely inferior and wasteful. How come he can get away with all these dirty tricks, and the media do not care?
--------------------
Obama cannot be trusted. He plays dirty tricks to get votes, while the media have been silent, while holding hillary down to counter. It has been unfair. That Obama health care plan is a dog's breakfast of bad ideas from Left, Right, and center, topped with an unhealthy amount of wishful thinking. If enacted it would cost Americans dearly — in higher taxes, lost jobs, reduced freedom of choice, and lower quality health care. Here is the detailed analysis of what is wrong with the Obama's health care plan. http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_…

can my husband put me on his health insurance?

im not working im a stay at home wife. I cook, i clean I do everything a wife should do, can my husband put me on his health insurance?
--------------------
He should be able to. I honestly don't know if there are any exceptions to this or not but as long as your not working and able to obtain health insurance through your own employer the answer should be yes. I haven't worked for a couple years but my last employer choose a health insurance company that would only cover a spouse if they were not able to obtain insurance through their own employer. Most likely your husband would have to pay the full cost of adding you to the policy. Some companies will cover the cost for an employee or if not the full cost they will pay a portion. Most will not pay for the coverage of family members. Laws in regard to insurance change frequently and they vary from place to place. Call your local insurance commissioner to find out for sure what the law is where you live. Usually it's cheaper to be added onto a spouses insurance because his company will have a group rate but not always. I suggest that you get some quotes from a few insurance companies to see what an individual policy would cost.

How much do US citizens pay on health insurance?

I earn £24000 ($36000) a year in the UK and pay 20% tax. For this type of wage how much tax and then how much health insurance would a US citizen pay?
--------------------
it's not quite so simple. the cost of insurance here is based on a lot of variables, not the least of which your past insurance, and your medical history. But I can tell you, you will pay a great deal more than just 20% in income tax here.

what is the reasoning behind health insurance companies?

what is the reasoning behind health insurance companies not wanting to cover the cost of birth control pills .but would pay for pregnancy Dr appointments, delivery, hospital stay and health care for a baby until 21 it does not make sense to me and I'm sure others agree with me
--------------------
I just answered a similar question to this one. So, I will just basically copy+paste the answer I just gave. I hope it helps you. I have worked in the health insurance industry for over 20 years. You will find this with many group insurance plans. Group health plans are basically written by the group (or corporation) and implemented by the insurance company. This means that the company you work for can make Viagra or birth control a benefit or not. The exception to this rule is if you live in a state that mandates this drug (or medical service) has to be a benefit. This mandate will override an insurance company policy. There are some corporations that play the sexist game of allowing Viagra but disallowing birth control pills. Many people don't know it but Erectile Dysfunction medication is covered by some Medicare Advantage plans. Meaning grandpa Eddie can still get his groove on. I will add that most individual (non-group) health insurance plans do not cover birth control.

guardianship of an unborn child for health insurance reasons?

My daughter is due to have a baby in 6 weeks. Well she has no insurance but the family insurance my husband pays for. The insurance company says if we want we can put the baby on our insurance but we have to get guardianship. What Kind of guardianship and will it cost anything?
--------------------
This would need to be approved in court. Doubt you will be able to do it for these (insurance) reasons.

If turns out im preggo, no health insurance yet, what to do?

I am going on 5 days late with a very high chance I am pregnant, testing again after this weekend. I do not have health insurance (I'm 21, 3 semesters of college to go!) I know prenatal vitamins are something i would need to start taking right away... so until I apply for medicaid & potentially get accepted, I will need to take something! Any advice?
--------------------
Any over the counter prenatal vitamins from the drugstore. No more caffeine. No ibuprofen, just take Tylenol if necessary. No sushi. No lunchmeat. No non-pasteurized juices or cheese. Don't stress. That should cover you until you see a doctor. Oh, no cold medicines....Robitussin if you get sick.

I am non resident alien having W-2 form for taxes, could I submit my health insurance premiums for tax returns

I wanted to know if things like health insurance premiums, professional liability insurance and or car loan monthly interests could be deducted while filing for tax returns by a non resident alien. thanks
--------------------
You can deduct health insurance premiums and professional liability insurance if you have enough deductions to itemize. Interest on a car loan cannot be deducted unless the car loan was a home equity loan.

What is the best health insurance to buy?

Of coarse it needs to be reasonably priced and must cover vision and dental.
--------------------
Then you are out of luck. Dental alone will cost you 200 a month. The cheapest insurance is one with a high deductible, high copay and only covers major medical. routine dr. visits are NOT covered. Unless you are willing to spend 1k a month you will not find anything. Check your state's website. Many offer group rates

I don't have any health insurance. Now that I am a criminal, what are my penalities?

I can't really afford to buy health insurance. Will I go to prison?

if you educated yourself enough, you would know that there are subsidies for people who cannot afford insurance. Stop freaking out and learn the facts.

shall i renew my health insurance or get a new term plan ?

I have a health insurance (family floater plan from ICICI-Lombard), also my family is covered by Employer for medical facilities, Shall I discontinue my health plan & go for a Term-Plan from Religare i-term plan ? Pl suggest, thanks,
--------------------
From ICICI you have health insurance which is useful in case of hospitalisation. i-term from Religare is a term insurance plan which pays your dependents in case of your death during policy term only. Health and Life Insurance as complimentary to each another and not substitutes.

What to do about health insurance while changing jobs?

I'm currently employed but will be leaving my current employment to go to another job. My question is, since the benefits with the new job don't start until three months after my hire date. My hours have been reduced, but our benefits have not been changed. What options do I have?
--------------------
If you pay for your benefits for the following month (many do, the payment you make in April, say, is for the coverage in May); then when you leave you would have 1 month that way. But for the other 2 months, that is tricky. To request single coverage for 2 months would probably be extremely expensive. Most people just are uninsured fpr 2 months & hope nothing happens. YOu can try contacting your carrier & talk to them.

Is it ironic that working poor cannot afford health insurance, while federal prisoners get free care?

If a federal prisoner has a serious health issue, they can be shipped off to the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota, where the Mayo Clinic has beds set aside for them.
--------------------
Look around at socialized medicine. Higher rates of disease and death. People who don't get what they need even if they can pay for it. Yes it's easier, just treat people like live stock so Obama and his new Oligarchy can rein supreme and be the super rich ruling class, but it's stupid for all others, just as the Bolshevik revolution screwed the little people most and put the rich friends of the leaders in role of royalty, so will Obama's plan to ruin our economy and install the "Progressive Economy" the communist originators of this movement advocated. If you keep watching TV, buying it all, thinking the people they support are your friends ... you are in for one RUDE AWAKENING.

Obama and these current democrats are the most divisive in my lifetime. They're trying to force bills through that more than half of the people don't want.

Health Insurance Cover Skin Removal Surgery?

I was wondering does anyone know if Blue Cross Health Insurance covers loose skin removal surgery? I lost a lot of weight but now i have a lot of loose skin and it's really bugging me =/ I have been trying for about a year now to try to get rid of it but nothing seems to work =/ But i have heard that some insurances will cover this kind of surgery. Is this true? If it is what health insurance covers it? Thanks :D!
--------------------
I think its tough to get it covered and probably your only shot is if you can prove that its causing health problems...that is you're getting infections in the skin folds, etc. I'd go ahead and schedule a consult with a plastic surgeon...they're probably the ones who know how best to work the system. If its purely cosmetic and the extra skin isn't causing you any health problems you probably can't get it covered. Good luck!

When is this new Health Insurance Reform going to start?

As we Speak, uninsured people are dying because they cannot afford to be treated for things so simple as Pneumonia or to have a dark Mole removed. This country is the only one of it's kind that puts Corporations before our Constitution and Civil Rights.
--------------------
Obama has already made some deals with the major insurance companies such as children with preexisting conditions cannot be refused insurance and insurance companies cannot put a ceiling on benefits after this year. Some of the states are fighting it, such as Missouri, so that will slow thing down unless we start putting the pressure on our elected leaders. The problem is the big insurance Lobbyists keep giving our elected leaders money to vote against Health care reform, a lot of money.
