Has anyone purchased or know any details on iCan health Insurance?

Being without insurance right now is awful, and I saw this commercial for iCan health insurance, it almost sounded too good to be true. This is the health insurance company that Billy Mays owned when he was alive. Does anyone have experience, or know of anyone with experience dealing with this insurance? Thanks!
--------------------
Despite what Billy says in the commercials, it's not 'real' health insurance. It's more of an indemnity plan that pays flat amounts, but if it (for example) pays $500/day in a hospital and the hospital costs $5,000 then you'll have to come up with the difference. Any way you slice it, it is definitely not a comprehensive major medical plan. Just find a health insurance broker that does business in your state. I have links on my site to brokers in every state. A broker can find you a comprehensive health insurance plan without the surprises. And, insurance brokers are absolutely free to use and insurance is too complicated to attempt to go it alone.

Where else can I sign up for health insurance?

I missed my company's October 30th deadline and am wondering if I can get health insurance else where. I am new to this. Never really seen a doctor in my 21 years.
--------------------
Any health insurance will happily sell you coverage, but it will cost you much more than what you would have gotten thru your company. That was a costly mistake. You can check around with any of the major health insurance companies, but you might be better off just to go ahead and either sign up with the company that your employer goes thru or wait until next year. If you do hold off and wait, put the money aside somewhere safe.....just in case you need it. Check any search engine under Health Insurance. I don't like to put names for this category since I am not nuts about many of them.

Why do you think it's the governments responsibality to provide you Health Insurance?

I mean really. I have worked for the same company for 30 years. And I have always paid for my own insurance. Why do you think now, that America is broke, either candidate is going to give you Health Insurance? And why should they? They won't be able to spend a dime for at least 2 years.
--------------------
If most of you know, I live in Mississauga, Ontario (a town next to Toronto). And I am an American citizen married to a EMS Paramedic of Toronto Ambulance. Let me tell you the truth of Canada, rather than the lies that politicians say about Canada. Ready. There is OHIP, Ontario Health Insurance Program that is the free healthcare but its not free, you pay 40% of your gross pay in taxes. You are left with 60% of your gross income but then there are other deductions from your gross pay, that will include the premiums to your Healthcare Insurance (Manulife Insurance Company). And then to union dues and whatever they want to take out for their government. Let me say this to you in my experience, my husband is a EMS paramedic but after all the withdrawals from his gross pay, he is left with $8.80 per hour net pay for a 40 hour work week, so if he makes $3,000 for two weeks he gets $800 for the two weeks payperiod. I am saying this to you all, cause as you know I have left tons of comments on here about Obama, and how he will ruin USA. He will, from my observation and reading, he will be taking USA to Marxism. We see it in Canada, they say he is a Socialist Marxist and if he is in then Canada will have problems since we are so close to USA. Obama wants to tax everyone, I don't care about his retoric of only a few, but how does he expect to pay for his social programs?? Okay, back to the Heathcare of Canada. I can't get eyeglass includes lenses and frames from the free healthcare OHIP, so people pay out for OHIP in their taxes, but they can't get the glasses, that's if you pay for your own health insurance from the withdrawals out of your paycheck, then you can, ah, but you have to come up with the full amount (meaning saving your cash for months on months to pay for your glasses and appointment, and then give it all to the Eye doctor and hopefully you will be reimbursed from your Manulife Insurance for that amount a month later. You can't just bill your insurance right when you go for your appointment, you have to have the cash saved up already to go to the eye doctor. And the dentist, geez, there is no free healthcare for seeing a dentist. You have to have your own plan to see a dentist. So you're wondering what the healthcare that Canada brags about for the people, it's for when you are so sick and dying they will help you die under their substandard healthcare hospitals, and suck the money from OHIP to allow you to lay in a hospital and die with drugs that are billed to OHIP and of course your death is not covered by OHIP, you have to be saving on the side to a funeral home cemetary to make them payments each month to be buried there. And then you think Canada is so wonderful, I am an American citizen, ready to hear about how they treated me when I was pregnant with my son? I didn't have OHIP cause you only get OHIP when you become a landed immigrant and pay your $1,600 fee to be "permanent landed immigrant". ( So illegals get no healthcare, like I see that Mexicans get in USA, that should be stopped, in my opinion). I had to pay $800 to the OBGYN, and $500 to the hosptial for 12 hour stay to have a baby. I walked into Humber River Finch Hosptial in North York upper Toronto, and I was told there was no labor room for me since they were all filled up, to wait or walk home, I walked home in the snow up to my knees. I then got a call at 4pm to tell me that there was one labor/delivery room available now, to start walking. I started to walk and got there in labor that was ready on its way. I got into the room, the doctor examined me and said"Here's a paper (looked like a tapworm) and he inserted it into me and said, "You'll have a heavy labor now." He walked out of the room, I was left having labor with Paul by my side watching a basketball game, and I didnt have iv's or help. I was told since I forgot to bring $400 cash with me for an epideral shot that I wouldn't get on, and at age 45 I would have to go through this labor without any help. So after 4 hours of labor I realized I wanted to push, and I did and the baby boy was pushed out, and the doctor said, 'Push on the broomstick handle." Ladies, there were no knitted stirups on that delivery table for my heels to push on!!!! I pushed my feet on the broomstick handle and the nurses said I was doing good, torn a bit in the vagina, and that the male doctor said he will have to stitch me up with a thread and needle without any numbing shot since I didn't bring extra cash, I thought maybe my $800 to him would have covered that or that $500 for the hostpial stay, ahah NOPE I had to feel each in and out of the black thread going in and out, the nurse covered my mouth to drown out the screaming and my husband had to push on my chest and arms to keep me from moving upwards in pain. I felt like the woman in ROBIN HOOD movie starring Kevin Costner where she delivered a baby by C-section and Morgan Freeman had to stitch her up wi

Did you know that illegal immigrants without health insurance prepare food in restaurants where YOU eat?

Wouldn't it better to give them health insurance? Or you prefer to catch a disease from eating in your favorite restaurant?

Will you be able to afford health insurance when the premiums go up?

My insurance premiums have skyrocketed in the last 3 years, yet this year the insurance industry will be required to cover pre-existing conditions for children and also for adult children up to the age of 26 (and sometimes longer). I doubt that I will be able to afford the new premiums. When preiums go up, who will be left that can afford health insurance? .
--------------------
Bellevue, you're wrong that's why you get the thumbs down. Johns Hopkins is in my back yard, so you'll never have access to the health care I have unless the system here is completely undermined. And, yes if you make no money then your payroll taxes will be less. And, you're only counting your payroll taxes. You're not counting the roughly three times the amount that your company pays. Sure, your company is paying it and not you, but where do you think American companies would get that additional tax? They're either going to cut payroll (lay people off) or they're going to cut salaries. You can't just expect other people to pay for things, because those other people have to get the money from somewhere. And, health insurance here for the healthy is not expensive at all. A couple weeks ago I could insure an entire 20-40-something family with maternity coverage for about $300-$400/month. Of course I say a couple weeks ago, because those plans are all going away (that plan is gone as of two weeks ago). If insurance companies are going to have to cover every pregnant girl that walks through the door then why cover maternity? I talked to a guy 3 weeks ago about insuring his daughter for $80/month off his group plan. He called me this week to get it done only to find out that children in America can't buy their own plan anymore. So, now he has to pay $200-$300/month to get her on his group plan at work. I also had a client who just sent me an e-mail last week that said, "my insurance went up from $261 to $344. What is that about?" My response...."new health care bill...."

Why do liberals keep bringing up the Auto Insurance answer when trying to defend Health Care as necessary?

I don't know if they understand that Auto Insurances are a State mandate not the Federal Govt, and that one doesn't need an auto insurance if they don't have a car. Which makes their argument without substance on health care. Also they can't seem to answer the constitutionality of the Federal Govt forcing people to purchase Health Insurance against their will. .
--------------------
One of the many poor arguments they use to attempt to defend the flawed legislation. Auto insurance mandate is contingent on the operation of a motor vehicle and is regulated by the states while the health insurance reform is contingent on breathing and will be regulated by the Secretary of Health and Human services. The former is a choice, the latter is a mandate. A quote from the bill; "...the Secretary shall make such adjustments that are deemed necessary including, reducing benefits, establishing waiting lists or increasing premiums." This is but one of countless references to the sole discretion of the Secretary of Health and Human services.

How can I get free health insurance?

My husband and I are both full time students and have no employment (no kids either). We live in Toledo, Ohio and attend UT, where it is mandatory for all students to have health insurance. The prices through the university are outrageous, and we're not getting that much financial aid anyways - we have no incoming income - is there a way to apply for free health insurance here in Toledo as there is in bigger cities like Chicago or New York?
--------------------
No employment, no income and married? WOAH you got to think about getting a job quick or you and your husband will be out on the streets before you think about health insurance.

Do Liberals know that buying health insurance is optional?

I keep reading post after post of how the insurance companies are screwing them. DON'T BE A CUSTOMER IF YOU THINK THEY ARE SCREWING YOU. There is no law that says you have to buy health insurance yet anyway. Try paying cash for your health care then you will see first hand why health insurance is so expensive. Because health care is expensive!
--------------------
ok.. but say they dont get over priced insurance... and they get sick.. they go to the emergency room... guess who pays for it? your insurance company.. who than jacks your overblown premiums even higher... see how this is a lose lose situation?

Can an employer cancel your health insurance due to lifestyle?

John Doe routinely participates in activities such as skydiving, rock climbing and bungee jumping. His employer told him to stop the activities or they would cancel his health insurance. John Doe's health insurance was cancelled after an article appeared in the paper highlighting his dangerous life style. What can he do? The real name will not be a part of this also he has worked for the company for 10 years is the top rep every quarter.
--------------------
If they pay for it, yes. If he pays for it - they would have no vested interest in doing such an action.

We have CIGNA. I recently spent 3 weeks on hospital bed rest, the total bill was over 80,000 dollars, we have to pay only 2,000. I couldnt be happier with that. Since my pregnancy is considered very high risk I have to have lots of extra tests and such and they have covered more than I could have dreamed they would.

How is my Health insurance plan going to be affected when this Universal Healthcare bill is passed?

I pay out of pocket from my paycheck into my health care. Why are some people against universal healthcare. If its going to affect me and my family negatively, Im going to be against it too. What are your thoughts?
--------------------
I earned my healthcare. I don't want it changed. To give it to the poor? They already get title 19, what more do they want us to do for them? They even recently passed/or p[assing the bill that is going to all the GOVERNMENT to dip into Social Security fund to pay for the healthcare for the......ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THE US. What lame brain decided to use it for that? They didn't earn ANYTHING. Send them back. Why do we have to take care of them? They are not one of our citizens. I am definitely against it! M

You try getting on the group policy through your employer. NO ONE is going to give you a private policy, with an undiagnosed, currently ongoing condition like abnormal bleeding.

Where can I buy health insurance?

I'm an self-employed worker. Need some health insurance because you never know when I'll get injured.
--------------------
All major insurance companies provide health insurance 1. Shop around 2. Look into different programs 3. See who gives a better deal for single/spouse/children 4. Do your math (monthly payment/benefit/co-pay) 5. Ask friends and family to refer you to a good broker. DONT JUST GO AND BUY INSURANCE FROM TOM, DICK AND HARRY

I have no health insurance and have stomach pains, does anyone know where I can go that will not cost alot.?

I've have stomach pains for the past months or so, it hurts like a knife stabbing into my right side also about 3-4 times a week I feel nausea.. I don;t have any health insurance does anyone know where I can go to get checked out and not have to pay alot of our pocket because I am currently unemployed and don't have alot of money.
--------------------
If the pain comes and goes, and you have bouts of nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea then you might have a kidney stone or gall stones. Any county hospital will treat you and bill you later...keep in mind that they cannot force you to pay more than you can afford to pay (usually they will settle on as little as $25 to $50 a month as long as you agree to pay it without fail). You would need to have a CT scan to see if you have a kidney stone or gall stone.

In California under what circumstances can a private health insurance company cancel an policyhoders coverage?

Can a private health insurance company cancel a policyholder's coverage at any time for any reason? If not then under what circumstances can an insurance company cancel a policyholder's coverage? Are there Federal Laws that govern this? What about state laws specifically in California?

I hate to tell you this, but insurance companies can do what ever they want...I hope you read your summary of benefits and the contract you signed. I suggest you get the book "Healthcare for Less" by Michelle Katz at your local BArnes and Noble...it will help guide you through the process and help you find cheaper ways to pay for your healthcare that you may not even realize is at your fingertips!!!!! It also gives websites that are very helpful and may be able to help you with your situation....one website mentioned in the book is www.naic.org that may be helpful when it comes to this......I this helps.

Having a hard time finding affordable health insurance?

I just need a simple surgery on both my ears. About a year ago I developed a keloid on both ears. I know they can get bigger so I want to get it fixed before it looks like a grape behind my ear. My biggest problem is in finding affordable health insurance. Can anyone tell me a good site to go to for affordable health insurance? All answers would be greatly appreciated.
--------------------
Unfortunately, your biggest problems isn't finding affordable insurance, it's finding a company that will accept you. Very few companies will accept someone with pending surgery. Those that do will likely put a rider on the policy. A rider means they won't cover the surgery or anything that is related to the keloids until it's been successfully removed and you've recovered. You won't be able to find out if a company will accept you online. You'll need to visit a local independent agent. This person can contact the underwriters of the companies and will be able to find out if you can even get insurance. The agent won't charge you anything for the service. You may get responses from people here offering you medical discount cards. Be very wary of these cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of "save up to 80%" be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. One state couldn't find any doctors in that state that took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes… for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards. Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won't give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they're still taking the card (many don't even know that they're listed as a provider) and that they're accepting new patients.
