Health Insurance?

Here is what I support Universal Health Care. I am a single Mom. I actually make amazing money compared to most. It is not a lot. But like 2000 a month. More than enough. I have a child. I choose not to find a job that has healthcare for my kid. I want the government to give it to me. I also do not pay taxes. I get paid under the table. I basically work like an illegal. But yet I want those who do pay to pay for my healthcare. Do you think this is wrong?
--------------------
No.finish sucking the life out of me.Just make it quick.

Health Insurance?

Does anyone think the price of Health will go down at all? Do you think it will keep rising untill almost no one will be able to afford it?
--------------------
No, because Americans will keep USING it, and we're not seeing any trends towards more healthy lifestyle. The more claims get put in, the more coverage is going to cost. Period.

I'm a 19 years old female looking for health insuracne. Of course money is very limited. Any suggestions?
--------------------
Are you a college student? Check with your campus health department. They probably will have a good deal? Are you low income? Check with your state or county to see if they have a low priced health insurance plan. Otherwise, try the internet insurance sites like ehealthinsurance.com for programs that are available.

I have 2 children from a previous relationship. I am getting married this summer, and I was wondering if my new husband could put my 2 children on his insurance plan. I dont know if he can do it seeing as they are not his biological father, but if we are married, shouldnt he be able to?
--------------------
Congratulations! Your new husband will need to inquire with his HR department about what the eligibility requirements for stepchildren are on his policy. Some employers allow all stepchildren to be enrolled. Some employers allow only stepchildren who reside with the employee to be enrolled. (There are other variations too, but the 2 scenarios I listed are the most common.) If your children are going to be living with you and your husband, most likely it won't be a problem. However, the only way to know for sure is for your husband to confirm the rules with his employer.

who knows of good health insurances that would be affordable and good and who cover pap smears practically im in search of one but cant find the right one i really need it asap someone help thank you!
--------------------
Contact Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They have private contract options and their services are fairly reasonable. I used them for about 3 years before marrying into the military and getting crappy Navy clinic service. If you don't want to go the insurance route (or can't find an affordable plan), then you can always try public clinics or planned parenthood.

--------------------

Health Insurance!?

I'm a healthy 22 year old girl, I'm just wondering how much health insurance could cost me? I know blue cross is the best- how much could that be? THANX!!!
--------------------
Ultimately, you are the one who determines the affordability of your health insurance plan by deciding how much you will participate in sharing the cost of your health care with your insurance company. You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably already know that there is much more to health insurance than price. If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage as well as low deductibles and low copays your monthly premiums will be significant. On the other hand because you are young and I presume healthy and probably rarely use the health care system you could consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe which will result in a relatively low monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit and still come out ahead. Check with the agent that writes your home or auto insurance he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health situation. Use the Internet to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage.

should government help on health insurance? y or y not?
--------------------
yes they should! we pay taxes, thus, they should use our taxes for health care. We're the richest ******* nation of the world! We should be able to help out the man who just got laid off because he fell on site and broke his back, even though he cant afford health insurance because he has to put food on the table! stupid ****** republicans.

Health Insurance...?

I need health insurance which is good and not expensive, good dental coverage ... what would you advise?
--------------------
Health insurance and Dental insurance are two separate policies, however, some companies will have dental as an option. The bad news for you is good insurance is not cheap and cheap insurance is not good. You can find policies that are not as expensive as other policies but you will give up benefits. With insurance you get what you pay for. Contact a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best policy for your situation and budget. There is no extra charge using an agent. There is no way to recommend a policy for you here. Policies are different depending upon your state, even from the same company, and your needs will determine which policy you get.

i have PPO option with a $1500 deductible with co-insurance (no co-pay). What does co-insurance mean? Would I have to bear the expenses for the 1st $1500 I spend for my health treatment/prevention? This is too much for me to bear- this insurance is worse than what I had when I was in school
--------------------
Yes, if your policy states that you have a $1,500 deductible, you will have to pay that until it's been met (paid by you in full). Some policy's do not count some preventative care towards the deductible. You will have to check your policy. You say you have a $1500 deductible with co-insurance. Check your policy-it should state what the percentage is that they cover and what the maximum out of pocket you will have. Example:they pay 80% to $3,000 out of pocket.

What are the top 3 health insurance companies in Arizona with respect to customer satisfaction and dependability?
--------------------
Health Net consistently places in the top two in the Ranking Arizona business magazine. Other top companies are United Health, Blue Cross, Aetna and Lifewise. My own personal opinion places Health Net and United Health as the top in customer satisfaction, dependability, coverage, and rates. I place more clients in those two companies than all the others combined and have yet to have a dissatisfied client. You just need to make sure you get the proper policy for your situation. Talk with an independent agent who can explain the differences in policies. You also want to talk to an agent if you have pre-existing conditions or are out of the height and weight guidelines. Some companies are more lenient than others for certain health conditions. It does you little good to apply to any company if they will decline your application.

Can you work for two Health Insurance companies at the same time. Example: Can I work at a brokerage in the morning and be an independent agent at night? Is there a conflict in interest? Please only answer if you really know.
--------------------
Of course there's a conflict of interest! You won't want to WRITE anything through the brokerage, as you'll get more $$ writing it directly as the independent! No one is going to give you a contract, as an independent, unless you've hired full time staff to service your book during normal business hours. It's not going to work.

Health Insurance?

Hello. My name is Angel I am 20 years old and live in an apartment with my boyfriend whom is 19 years old. I am a full time college student and he is a full time employee. We both do not have health insurance. We are getting married soon and his job does not offer insurance for a year and then the 60 days start. I am scared that if one of us gets sick we may get stuck in a bind. I am not sure what we are eligible for or who to talk to to see what the options are. We make 420 dollars a week. Are we eligible for assistance? I need advice as soon as possible. Thank you very much. Angel
--------------------
The only way to find out is to apply at your Medicaid office. It varies from state to state, etc. Other than that you might try googling medicaid and your state. My guess would be that you are not eligible, but it's really a guess. Can you get insurance from your college? I know mine had it available to students when I went. Check into that. You might be eligible to be on your parent's health insurance plan since you are a full time student. Your last option would be to purchase private insurance. Expensive. Lastly, if you have to go to the doctor, you have to go. Don't go frivolously, but if you really are sick, go. An office visit is about $150, right? Good luck and stay well. And vote.

I am wanting to buy health insurance and don't know were to start, Anyone have any recommendations? My Age is 24
--------------------
I hope you're healthy. I would encourage you to get an HSA http://www.opm.gov/hsa/ I'd use a site that returns multiple quotes, such as http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ You can search for an HSA there You could get a "regular" policy through them as well. Make sure you understand the policy as well as you can--they deliberately make it difficult at times, but if you have it on your own instead of through your employer, you will be better off.

Health Insurance?

My mom had her gallbladder taken out few months ago and now she got the bill and her health insurance will not pick any of it up and she owes the hospital five thousand dollars. What is the best health insurance out there? Low monthly payment. My mom is not happy with the insurance company. This is my dads railroad insurance.
--------------------
Call the insurance company and inquire as to the reason for rejection, find out why then call your union and ask them for help. If the surgery was determined to be voluntary the insurance company may reject it. How long has your mother had this insurance? If not long (less than 18 months) they may have rejected the claim b/c of waiting periods. Also, was the surgery inpatient or outpatient? If inpatient the hospital may have determined that the surgery could have been performed outpatient and rejecting forthat reason. If inpatient you probably needed pre-admission certification, did she get that with the insurance company? DO you have a referral policy? If yes, the surgery would not be covered unless there was a referral from her primary care physician. Was the providing hospital a member of the participating insruance companies network? IF not they may reject the claim on that basis. You have not gathered all the information yet, and I doubt that you can find a better insurance provider then what you've got with your dads railroad job...I assume it's a union job. You need to call the union and the insurance company and start asking questions. DO NOT PAY ANYONE ANY MONEY until you have a resolution that you're satisfied with. Beware of HIPPA (health insurance patient protection act) in my opinion its just an excuse for the providers (hospital, doctors and insurance company) to be lazy if YOU call you'll get "I cant help you I can only talk to your mom b/c of hippa" SO GET YOUR MOM ON THE PHONE AND HAVE HER AUTHORIZE THEM TO LET YOU HELP and start asking questionsl, like the ones above.

Why are well-paid workers given health insurance and poorly-paid workers left to fend for themselves?

wouldn't it make more sense to give low-wage people affordable health insurance and make well-paid people pay just a little more for their own premiums? Maybe I don't understand it very well. Can somebody explain it to me? I really want to know.
--------------------
It's because of bad government policy. The government in our country won't include social factors into the free market economic system. In Europe and Japan, they have established a national health care program. It's subject to all, rich and poor. The rich can pay more premium for their comfort anyway.

Should health insurance cover all expenses, or just catastrophic ones?

Home insurance covers big events, like fires, theft, etc. It doesn't cover replacing every light bulb. Shouldn't health insurance be the same way?
--------------------
Good point, insurance should only cover catastrophic events. How high would your home owners insurance be if you filed a claim everytime you replaced a light bulb? You replaced a leaky pipe? It would be comparable to health insurance, this is one of the major factors influencing the cost. There is no personal responsibility in taking on expense for events i.e. flu shots, prescriptions and items under $500 . This would go a long way to reduce the cost of health insurance, one remedy that the conservatives had but the democrats ignored....higher deductibles.

How does Obama plan on lowering the cost of health insurance for everyone?

Straight off of his website: "Require insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions so all Americans regardless of their health status or history can get comprehensive benefits at fair and stable premiums." Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would INCREASE the cost to insurance companies - which would in turn INCREASE everyone's premium. Does this man not know how insurance works??? http://www.barackobama.com/issues/health…
--------------------
the same way the military does. once again i will ask why not nonprofit insurance,? if criminals are not allowed to make money off their victims pain and suffering then why do we allow insurance companies to do the same? no one should be allowed to make a profit off of something as important as your health problems, just like once upon a time we did not allow mercenaries to fight our wars for profit, somethings should not be for profit but if you call yourself a christian then helping someone means you should not expect something back. but if someone should pay for it then lets look back at the good old lawyers that you probably hate who where the ones that went after the big tobacco companies that lied about how dangerous and addictive their tobacco is and made them pay the taxpayers back for all those years we took care of the cancer victims that we the taxpayers had to pay for in one way or another. and if you are looking for someone else to pay for this then how about the junk food industry? i am sure they don't tell us as to why they put addictive caffeine in a lot of their junk food. and why did they put all that trans fat in their food even though they knew it causes health problems.

Horseback riding lessons and health insurance?

If i don't have health insurance right now can i take horse back riding lessons?
--------------------
Of course. The government doesn't care, nor does the place you ride at- If you get hurt, it's your problem. Of course, usually trainers must have insurance of some sort to protect them from lawsuits from injured clients, but unless you train you don't need to worry about that EDIT: Oh, you're new, aren't you? Yes, you'll get hurt. You'll fall off, get your toes stomped on, ect. ect. Usually you'll just get bruises and soreness, but it is possible to be seriously injured or even die. Of course, the risk is different depending on what discipline you do- People who do Western Pleasure on trained horses very rarely get hurt, but Eventers commonly get injured (Example: We have to have an ambulance at every show, and I don't remember the last show I went to that that ambulance wasn't used at least once.) , even killed. (Introducing the Rotational Fall: http://equineink.files.wordpress.com/200… http://www.nationalequinestudent.com/cus… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYeiS3axj… ) Of course, there are things you can do to reduce the risk of serious injury significantly. Don't ride green, young, or untrained horses until you are experienced enough to handle ANYTHING they throw at you, don't attempt new things like Jumping without a experienced trainer, wear appropriate footwear (No flip-flops or sandals!), use correctly fitting tack in good repair (You don't want something to break mid-ride!) wear an ASTM/SEI Approved helmet for every ride- Heck, if you want, you can even wear a safety vest . The fact is riding IS dangerous, perhaps more so than many other sports. I mean, we are not dealing with inaminate objects like many sports- We have to take into account another being, one much larger than us. A basketball doesn't spook at the net- A horse can spook at anything, rear, and go over backwards. (Which I've had happen, and it isn't fun! ) But that's part of the fun.

Full physical exam for health insurance - what to expect?

I'm a 20 year old female and I need to go in for a physical in order to renew my health insurance. If I go to a regular doctor for it (instead of an OB/GYN, as suggested by my mom), what should I expect? I want to know since I'm considering going to my general practitioner for it, but he is a male. I'd like to know if he would have to do anything "invasive," so to speak, which I wouldn't be comfortable with!
--------------------
When I went they asked a bunch of questions and did some blood work. They were looking for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, drug usage, HIV, obesity, etc. They want to see you are healthy and happy with serious pre-existing condition. I had been very healthy and never thought anything of it. Keep in mind they will have access to your prescription records. I got dinged because my doctor prescribed Advair when I had an upper respiratory infection several years ago and it is normally used for asthma. For life insurance company they sent a nurse out to me at home to draw blood and do an HIV swab. In no case did they do anything that was uncomfortable (breast exam or anything like that).
