DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD AND VERY VERY VERY INEXPENSIVE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY IN GA?? I REALLY NEED ONE BUT I'M A STUDENT AND BROKE ALL THE TIME.
--------------------
if you're a student I'd check with your college, they'll be able to hook you up with cheap medical insurance. Aside from that you might qualify for medicare if you don't make a whole lot of money. Good luck.

health insurance????

does anyone know of a website or something where i can get VERY low health insurance for my family when i have been turned down by my states office? i live in south carolina.
--------------------
OH, jeez. Look at the other posting, of the guy that signed up for "health" over the internet. He paid, no coverage, can't find the office. You're asking to get majorly scammed. Health insurance IS going to cost $250 per month per adult, if you're healthy, and $180 per kid, if you're healthy. That's what it costs. You can't buy a house for $5,000 that you wire some guy to Nigeria. Health discount plans, well, the VAST majority of providers won't even take them. And if you want health insurance, your LOCAL AGENT knows what's most competitive in your area, and has providers. OH, and you know where to find him if you've got a problem. But you are making a major mistake if you either go with the health discount plan, or if you buy over the internet. Good luck getting ANYTHING for your money.

health insurance?

Dear friends, I was an international student in the past spring semester and my health insurance is still valid until the end of this summer. Thankfully I have not used my insurance at all and I was wondering if you my friends could give me any smart ideas on how I may be able to get the most out of my health insurance before it expires? I assume there would be no refund to me from the insurance company even if I have not had a single claim on it. I paid almost 500$ for it and that kinda hurts to see it is going to expire soon and you have not benefited from it at all! Hope you understand and thank you very much in advance for your smart ideas and any advice or information you could give, warm regards, Rojin
--------------------
"Getting the most" out of your health insurance usually only happens when you get sick or get into an accident. Health Insurance is a "just in case" type of insurance, like automobile insurance. However, you may want to look at your policy and see if there are any provisions for "wellness" or "preventative" doctor visits. If these provisions DO exist, make an appointment with a physician to get a check-up.

Health Insurance?

I'm looking for a good Health Insurance company. I only need coverage for myself and I'm in good health. I really need insurance that actually comes through when I need my medical bills paid, not a company who will just pocket my money and charge me outrageous deductibles. I don't care about how much my monthly/yearly fees will be as long as it does that. If they have coverage for international travelers, that would be good too. Thank You.

Hi I know of some really good, affordable health benefits. And if they're not enough, you could even use them in conjunction with anything else for as cheap as 19.95. The company name is Ameriplan. So if you might be interested, email me anytime. Good luck

What is a reasonable rate one should expect to pay for health insurance a month? I am 23 and get none offered through my job.
--------------------
If you are smart you can have great coverage between $100 - $200/month or less. To achieve the highest coverage and the lowest price, combine My Simple Card membership (Total Health Option) with a high deductible and very cheap health insurance from My eHealthInsurance. If you really want to stay below $100, you can skip the second part.

Is it a law that requires each university student to have health insurance?
--------------------
No, there is no such law that requires university students to have health insurance. However, a university can require international students to have health insurance because in the event the student becomes ill, they should have health insurance to take care of their needs. Especially since the university is authorizing the international student to study in the U.S. on an I-20. One thing to keep in mind, it's better to have health insurance just in case you need medical attention while you are at school, especially if you are away from home. Best wishes to you!

Health Insurance ==> ?!?!??!?!?

I need to get a health insurance. Where is the best place to get it from?
--------------------
Depends what you are looking of, where you live and how much coverage you need. Some people want more dental coverage, some people want more para medical services covered (IE: massage, chiro, etc). Your best bet is to contact a lisensed insurance broker who can take a look at what you want and find the best company to suit that.

I was involved in a boat accident, that caused my ligaments to be torn. Now, on crutches and some pain.. i wonder, I don't have health insurance... can you guys give me any suggestions as to what i can do to pay for this? i live in california... if that matters.... thanks
--------------------
- who's fault was it? - whom does the boat belong (owner & registration)? - how did the "accident" occur? (they are usually avoidable, and therefor actually crashes) - were there substances involved(legal as well as illegal)? - - was there a charge to be on the water/lake/river? - whom did you pay? (since you say that you don't want to burden the responsible party, they should either have their insurance take care of that, or pay for your medical bills) ... there are so many possibilities for liability (especially in California) you may need to talk to a personal injury attorney. Torn ligaments are a serious issue and will subject you to a higher liklyhood to develop joint arthrititis later in life, so you need to take care of this as much as possible now.

Do I have to pay income taxes on a health insurance payout?

My insurance company wrote me a check directly for a health insurance claim. I'm not sure why they paid me, as opposed to directly paying the provider, who filed the claim. The provider is out-of-network, so maybe that's why. Anyway, my question is will I have to count this as income and pay taxes on it? It's roughly 25K. If so, I'll be wishing they would have paid the provider directly.
--------------------
Generally, no. If you paid the provider in an earlier year, and you deducted that payment on your tax return for that year, then the money that you receive now is taxable. If you have not yet paid the provider, or you paid the provider without taking a tax deduction for your payment to the provider, then it is not taxable.

Since the government can now force you to buy health insurance, can they also force you to buy cable tv?

from the provider they assign you to? Can they force you to buy a car, and more specifically the kind of car that they think its most suited for you? Maybe even regulate your cell phone plan? Keep in mind, not only can the government now force you to buy health insurance, they also will regulate your coverage-they will tell you how much insurance you need or dont need. And the best part is all of this will be enforced by our good caring friends at the IRS.
--------------------
If we, the people, allow them to do this to us now, then yes, they can do it again, they probably will and the longer it goes on the less capable we will be of stopping it.

Between job and grad school. What is the best option for health insurance?

I am going to be putting in notice at my full time job so that I can go on interviews for graduate school in the coming month. I know that when I start grad school in August, I should be able to get health insurance through the school. What are my best options for coverage from March-July? Are there any good short term programs that will not cost me $400/month? Has anyone else been in the same situation?
