Looking to start company. How much is health insurance?

Before I get specifics I was wondering if anyone knows ballpark figure for providing health insurance for myself and two other employees (if there is such a thing)? I don't want employees to pay for insurance and want to provide the basics. Thanks!
--------------------
If you only have 2 or 3 employees then you should be looking at individual plans. They can buy them and you can reimburse them as long as your reimbursement is equal and fair. You can't give one employee $100 and the other $200 (unless of course that worked out to be an equal percentage of the cost). You'll pay (if they're healthy) a fraction 1/3 - 1/2 of what a group plan would run. Ballpark....at home plate it'd run $80/month and over in left field it'd run about $500/month for an individual. It depends on age, health, state, plan, etc...as someone said it's impossible to through out numbers (for example, the $350 and $1200 above serve no purpose whatsoever because it's accurate less than it's not)

Why is health insurance so incredibly expensive?

I am 32 years old with high blood pressure and obesity. I just started a new job (a small employer- only 3-4 employees), and we all desperately need health insurance. Kaiser wants to charge me $550 per month for my single policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… I only earn 900 per month. If I go with Kaiser, I will only be taking home about 90 dollars each week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is absurd and unconscionable. I guess that Kaiser has a legal right to charge people whatever the hell they want to, but it's immoral. Wouldn't you agree? That high of a cost for health insurance is ludicrous.
--------------------
Its not unconscionable. Where have you been for the past 10 years? You plan is EXTREMELY typical. That whole 'national health care debate' thing... Health care, state of crisis, ring any bells???? Its not out of line. Suck it up, and apply for medicaid... try union insurance. Or, get healthier. If you're healthier, your insurance will be less expensive... OR, Go work for a company with better benefits. Most group insurance plans actually cost between 450-750 per person, per month. Mine is about $500.00 per month. My job pays about 80% of my premium... So, everyone's insurance is expensive... But, you're getting a raw deal because your employer isn't kicking in to help with your premium. Its not immoral... Kaiser has to pay their doctor's and electricity bills... They also run a fabulous research foundation. I'd rather pay them for insurance than pay for all my medical care alone. I'm pretty healthy, but know I couldn't afford it all on my own... Health insurance companies are greedy, and doctor's are greedy, and people are sick. mbrcatz17 is right. listen to her. she sounds less bitter than I.

If you want to spend $6500 on a new boat instead of Health Insurance, will Obama Garnish your pay check?

If you have a job, the boss has to provide you insurance or pay a fine SO, if I want to buy a boat this year and take my chances with staying healthy, will the Obama Administration make my boss garnish my paycheck to pay for health insurance I don' want? I can't buy the boat if I have to put out all that money for insurance. Will they Garnish my paycheck?

My mother is a single mother and teaches at a public college, she can afford health insurance?

Public school teachers aren't paid well. Being a single mother doesn't help. Her job doesn't pay for her health insurance, she does. So why can she afford it, when she clearly doesn't make a lot of money, but so many other people claim they can't? Isn't it a sign that you don't have to be rich to afford health care, like so many liberals claim?

How do I get health insurance?

Ok Im 20 and I don't think I have health insurance. I want insurance to cover basic health and dental too. How can I get health insurance that is cheap and affordable in California? Thank you
--------------------
You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process of purchasing health insurance so that you understand what you are purchasing. Understanding what you are buying is as important as the price. An agent can give you the knowledge you need so that you can decide what the right balance is between affordability and policy benefits. If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage as well as low deductibles, low co-pays and optional vision and dental benefits your monthly premiums will be significant. On the other hand because you are young, presumably healthy and probably don't often use the health care system you might consider a plan that covers only the major health catastrophe. In this type of plan the insurance company does not pay benefits until you first reach a significant out of pocket cost (this is a deductible). Ask the agent if an HSA works for you. If you'd rather have more comprehensive individual health insurance coverage, such as preventive care coverage, consider a PPO or HMO plan with a lower deductible. Consider higher co-pays for doctor's office visits and perhaps not cover prescription drugs. Either of these approaches will result in a lower monthly premium. You then can use the monthly premium savings to pay for the occasional doctor visit or prescription and still come out ahead. Check with the agent that writes your other insurance or perhaps your parent's agent he/she can provide you a health insurance proposal that takes into account your budget and health status. They can answer questions as to what is and is not covered by the policy, explain deductibles and co-pays and show you the hospitals and doctors that participate in the network. (Networks in PPO and HMO plans are very important considerations). Some are going to suggest you go to their web site so that they earn a few pennies on a "click through". Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but you probably know there is much more to choosing the right health insurance than price. Use the Internet to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage.

Can my GF be qualified for health insurance?

I was wondering if its possible to put my GF on my health insurance. It says in order for me to put her on my insurance, she needs to be a dependent on me. Well for these past taxes her brother put her as her dependent and well now I'm paying for everything for her, not her brother. Example: Food, Necessities, Gas, Transportation. Will she be considered by dependent or is there another way I can put her on my insurance because she needs the insurance, because she has MS and needs to see specialists.
--------------------
Do you live together? Some states (and some medical plans) have a domestic partner clause which would allow her to be covered under your health insurance if she meets certain criteria. Do you have coverage through your employer? If so, contact your HR department and ask them if a domestic partner can be covered by your health plan. They'll be able to answer your questions and even get the enrollment process going, if she's eligible.

Why were republicans against mandated health insurance when the idea was theirs to begin with?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_ove… Now we know republicans opposed it SOLELY for political reasons.
--------------------
you are absolutely right, it's nothing but politics. The republicans believe that they can convince enough of their ignorant screaming base that this is a bad idea, and that nobody will really care that it was a republican idea in the first place. They believe that somehow they can convince folks to let hypocrites run the government as opposed to democrats. It's the old adage of lawyers. "When the facts are on your side, argue the facts. When the law is on your side, argue the law. When neither are on your side, scream like hell." So they just scream like hell.

If you had no car payment, would you be able to afford health insurance?

If you answer yes, then does it stand to reason that your priorities are a bit off, that perhaps you should drive a paid for used car before buying a car that makes it impossible for you to afford health insurance? Just checking. thanks.
--------------------
It appears you may have forgotten the government doesn't like used cars. They just trashed a whole bunch of them and at taxpayer expense. Let me guess..you like PORK? Just checking....
Source

Why do Liberals want to be force to pay Health care Insurance?

why can't some people work harder and pay for their own health care insurance? There are some people who are driving without car insurance.... So I don't think there is such thing as affordable health insurance
--------------------
"Why do Liberals want to be force to pay Health care Insurance?" They don't believe they will have to. That's why they are all for it.

If I visited New Zealand, was injured and I didn't have health insurance would New Zealand pay the bill?

If I were to visit New Zealand on holiday and I were to be injured and I didn't have health insurance, would New Zealand pay for my hospital bill? How much would I typically have to pay?
--------------------
If you were injured through an accident (not a disease or medical problem), yes, you are covered through the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation. New Zealand provides free care for all accidents for everyone in New Zealand, including tourists. According to their web site - htttp://www.acc.co.nz/claims/am-i-covere… : ACC offers 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, no-fault eligibility for comprehensive injury cover for everyone in New Zealand: • no matter what you're doing or where you are when you're injured – driving, playing sport, at home, at work. • no matter how the injury happened, even if you did something yourself to contribute to it. • no matter what age you are or whether you're working – you might be retired, a child, on a benefit or studying. Visitors to New Zealand are also eligible for cover, as are New Zealanders who travel overseas on short trips. However, the ACC will not pay for any changes to your travel you may have to make because of the injury, or any lost wages you lose to injury if you are not working in New Zealand. For this reason, you should have travel insurance as well.

Can my wife remove me from her Health Insurance?

My wife and I have separated. We are currently living apart from each other. She is employed full-time. Recently, she cancelled my health insurance that she receives through her employer. I had heard that this is illegal. In other words, I was told that a spouse cannot remove the other spouse from his or her health insurance until there is a divorce. However, when I called the insurance company, I was told that she had removed me during "open enrollment" and that she is legally allowed to do so during that time. I am disabled and would suffer greatly if I lose my health coverage. Is what she did legal?
--------------------
It is legal. You should consult your lawyer to make sure that she was supposed to keep the coverage for you under the agreement. If she was, then it was not legal.

There is no way to know. It depends on what insurance the employer offers and what percentage of the premium you have to pay.

Why do Jewish-run companies refuse to provide health insurance for employees?

It is not a "bigoted" question, it is based on personal experience. When I was looking for a job, every time I went to a Jewish-run company, they always said that they do no offer any type of health insurance. So, why is it? Is it a religious thing? Or a stereotype (cheapness) that is actually true, in this case?
--------------------
Well, then don't apply for jobs at "Jewish-run" businesses. Did you know that UPS (United Parcel Service) DOES NOT have bennies for it's workforce that's part time?? And over 80% of UPS employees are NOT "full time".......And that's NOT a "Jewish-run" business, last time I looked at my stock dividend check......... When I worked for the County of San Diego, I DIDN'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE EITHER. City and State employees do here in CA, but NOT county employees..........go figure??? Christopher K. EDIT: And what about Tyson Foods Inc., that actually had to BUILD a temple for their Somali (political refugees) Muslim employees (they MUST pray 5 times a day), yet NO other "religious" group gets any "compensation" whatsoever. Where's THAT going???

No Health Insurance or Job but need surgery?

I recently went to the doctor and he believes I have gallbladder problems and will eventually need surgery. I lost my job and have no health insurance. What can I do?
--------------------
Apply for state or county aid. The state hospital system or local government agency should be able to lead you to the right office and the paperwork and eligibility requirements. I had to do this for surgery for a tumor, and an accident where I had a broken ankle that required surgery to put back together.

What is the difference between the Mass. health insurance law and the current one in congress?

the Mass. health insurance bill that Romney passed and Brown voted for... it seems fairly similar on the surface... mandatory insurance... and I think there were limits on who insurance companies could cut also... I'm not super familiar with the Mass. law though...
--------------------
the main sinilarity is that neither can be paid for. mass. voters already know that because their health bill is bankrupting their state...

Did health insurance companies get bailout money?

i'm trying to do some research, and i couldn't find it anywhere... but does anyone know if the health insurance companies like Aetna, Assurant, Boston Mutual, etc. got any bailout money?
--------------------
They may not have directly, but it is important to remember how interdependent the insurance industry is. They may well have offloaded some of the risk to other companies which DID receive a bailout and hence indirectly benefit from the bailout package. You'd be hard pushed to find this kind of information available publicly as it is commercially sensitive. Personally (and it's just my own, but informed, opinion) I'd say there wasn't an insurance company anywhere in the world that didn't 'benefit' to least some degree from the bailout of AIG. I use the word 'benefit' advisedly since they didn't gain anything, they just didn't 'lose' as they would have if AIG had failed.

Can I change my health insurance mailing address if I'm still under my parents?

Basically I'm just wondering if I can change my mailing address with my health insurance company, eventhough I am still listed under my parents? Reason being, I'm living at a different address and would like everything they send addressed to me, sent to me. I just don't want this information to constitute something that means I have to leave my parent's plan
--------------------
You should be able to change your mailing address yes, but if you are looking for you parents to pay the parts of the bill that the insurance does not cover, they would not get that information so that burden would be up to you to cover. Or if you want them sent to you but show them to your parents and they give you the money to pay on it--thats another option.

can an operation be refused with private health insurance?

I'm considering using my Bupa Private Health Insurance to sort out a reoccurring problem with tonsillitis. I've decided that I would rather have them removed altogether and be done with it forever as I've had them 5 times since nov last year. Can the consultant refuse to take them out or do they have to accept my wishes?
--------------------
Sounds like you have two questions...first, can your Ear, Nose and Throat specialist refuse to remove your tonsils without good medical cause. The answer is yes, regardless of what insurance plan you have, if the physician doesn't feel that it is medically warranted, or would in some way be harmful to remove the tonsils, they can refuse to do the surgery. If you disagree with his/her determination, you have the option of seeking a second opinion. There is also the matter of your insurance company refusing to pay for a surgery that was not considered "medically necessary" according to their guidelines. It would be important to know if they consider the tonsillectomy "elective" if your doctor does not support you in your decision to have them removed. Good luck in your efforts to get help!

Please help me, I would like to know if a basic salary of 16k uae drh, 9k for housing, plus car, health insurance and vacation leave for my family are provided by the company are enough to live in sharjah, and could I save some money?
--------------------
Rentals in UAE are the most expensive part. I believe tht if you want to rent a place (2-bed apmt), it will cost you atleast about 5kdhs per month. I would suggest that you budget between 5 and 7k dhs (depends on luck also you see). Food is not very expensive unless you decide to eat out often. Again, Indian restaurants are cheap; Lebanese are also. If you need italian mexican etc its more expensive. But you should budget for about 4k dhs per month. Car: While car can cost anywhere between 1.5k to .....depending on the car you want, you have to factor for the initial period (Can be 6months or more) for getting a license. This process of getting a license will cost you (minimum) of 2k dhs. Till you get the license your transport cost (or time) will be very high. Budget for that. If you live in Sharjah and work in Dubai, please factor for atleast 1hour to 1.5hour of travel every day (one way). The travel costs should not be too much. But its a hassle. Schools will be an expensive affair but many times the company will cover it. Please check with them. If its not covered, then you will have to factor between 800dhs to 2000dhs per month. This is a big expense. Electricty, water -- about 400dhs. Telephones - Again a big range, but remember that the call costs are extremely high (one of the highest in the world). So, you have to factor that. Petrol is cheap. Car Insurance is expensive (can be between 2k to 5k per year). Summary: As someone else said, there are people who live from 1k dhs per month onwards. Average salaries are about 7k to 10k dhs for a decent job. So, you are doing good. But if your main aim is to save, then be prepared to live in less-than-happy environments, travel long hours. If you want to enjoy life and give your kids a good exposure (multi-cultural environment, good facilities etc) then its perfect and you can do with the salary you mention. One last word of caution: Job visas have some restrictions attached. You may not be able to easily switch jobs. Also, (though illegal) i hear that many companies hold your passports. These are some quirks of this country (and region). Be prepared for them. Set your expectations accordingly and you will enjoy life. Welcome to UAE. Enjoy your stay

can someone please explain to me the whole issue about health care, insurance ?

explain to me whats going with the whole issue about health insurance. i watch the news and on the internet but i think i don't really understand the whole subject.
--------------------
The bottom line is that this administration wants bigger government and this will add to their control and control is what it's all about. Obamacide will add trillions to the deficit, will take away your right to proper health care (there will be a government paper pusher making choices on your health are), it will take away millions from Medicare thus giving seniors a death sentence, and it will allow illegal aliens the right to medical care on your dollar.

In one town 79%of adults have health insurance. What is the probability that 10 adults selected at random from?

the town all have health insurance. Books answer 0.095 how?
--------------------
It's simple. There is a chance of 79% if you select one person that they will have insurance. Therefore, for the 10 people it would just be (0.79)^10, which is 0.09468, which when rounded, is 0.095
