I work for a retail company and have just recently decided to go back to school. I will be covered by my parents starting soon and I was wondering if this would be considered a life event where I could change or drop my current health insurance with my workplace.

if you have an individual plan, you should be able to drop it with a 15 or 30 day notice. if it is through your employer, the only ways are how the lady above me stated. if that's the case, just see if you can reduce your hours so that you are not qualified for health coverage. usually it's between 20 and 30 hours min.
