Matrenity benefits - which health insurance to choose?

I have moved to the US on a dependent visa. All health insurance companies I contacted so far have a waiting period of 12 months for availing maternity benefits. I want to start planning a family sometime this year.. Is there any health insurance which does not have a waiting period? Pls help!!!

Employer-sponsored health insurance is less likely to have a waiting period. So if you can get coverage through your employer, or through your husband's job, it probably won't have a waiting period. But check to be sure. Also you could try an HMO, such as Kaiser Permanente, to see if they don't have a waiting period. but probably most do, otherwise they would lose a lot of money, since having a baby is very expensive. If you are poor, your state's Medicaid program covers prenatal and delivery healthcare for pregnant women, but you must meet income and asset requirements, in other words be living in poverty.
