Does anyone know a good health care plan when someone has a pre-existing condition? My husband really needs to take another job but they are a small place that doesn't offer health insurance. We need insurance for the whole family or he can't leave his job. My husband has a mental illness if that makes a difference on the pre-existing condition part. Thanks for any help.

Find out the insurance company he uses and see if they have plans that you can get as an individual. Get enrolled while he is still working. Example: My company had BlueCross/BlueShield they have different categories where you don't have to get insurance through your employer. Most insurance providers will cover the pre-existing conditions if you have insurance when enrolling. Good luck. If you have kids you may want to put them on a state insurance plan or Medicaid. He may be able to get Medicaid also because of his mental illness to cover him until his pre-existing time period has been cleared.
