Would it be better to buy health insurance before or after the new health care legislation passes?

I'm a healthy young person with no pressing need for any health care right now. I want to buy health insurance, but I don't know if I should wait until after the health care legislation passes. Will premiums likely be higher or lower afterwards? Will I be able to cross state lines to buy health insurance afterwards? These are just two examples, but I'm interested in ANY factors. Thanks!

It doesn't matter, because the insurance companies have already started raising rates in anticipation. Our group insurance went up 23% this Jan. Does anyone really think costs went up 23%? No, they're preparing for when cost-cutting measures will be law and they can't raise costs 23% in a year with 0% inflation. The real question is what would you do if you were involved in a car crash now and didn't have any health insurance? People are injured and killed on the roads every day through no fault of their own (wrong-way driver killed 2 people yesterday in Atl.) Think ahead and decide how much risk you can bear, then purchase insurance or not. If you have enough money to cover potential medical expenses, you don't need it. If not, you do need it.
