Why doesn't the military buy our troops private health insurance?

Instead of forcing them to use the military's socialized medical system. Don't our troops deserve better?
--------------------
You cannot compare the military medical system to private systems or to government run health care for the public. Military doctors and nurses are there voluntarily specifically to treat military personnel and their families. They have virtually unlimited resources to treat so their only limiting factor is hours they can work in a day. They have limited case loads and receive officer's pay (all doctors are officers and usually enter at Captain or better or are rapidly promoted). Being there voluntarily makes a huge difference in their attitude and morale; something they will not have when forced to become government bureaucrats.
