Someone told me that if you get fired from a job you can keep the health insurance til the end of that year.?

Someone told me that if you get fired from a job you can keep the health insurance til the end of that year. Is that true?

What that person was probably talking about was COBRA insurance. This is something you pay for out of your pocket. You can keep it for up to 18 months after you leave a job if you qualify.
