What are "for profit" health insurance companies?

please briefly explain what they are and what they do, because i don't understand the difference between for profit and non-profit.
--------------------
There is no difference. Everybody works for profit. If you hear "non-profit," it means that they have some sort of preferential treatment when it comes to taxes. A "non-profit" company couldn't exist. How could it pay the rent, pay its employees, etc.? With what money? Profit is what is left over after you have covered your costs. So, if they make a penny, they are "for-profit," Don't believe anything anyone else tells you otherwise. It's economic ignorance.
