what's the difference between health insurance and medicaid?

Thanks for any suggestions :)

Medicaid is a government run program originally designed to assist people over 65 with their health care costs. It is now assisting people with low incomes who cannot afford other types of health insurance coverage. You have to apply for this coverage by calling 1-800-633-4227 and completing a formal process. If you qualify, it is a great way to get some assistance with costly medical expenses. Health Insurance is a private run industry made up of numerous companies who agree to cover some or all of your medical expenses in return for paying them a monthly premium. Health Insurance companies make money by charging you more in premiums and other fees than they have to pay out for your health care. Basically, the healthy people who never get sick help offset the cost of the sick people who run up huge bills.
