Talk to Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE -- they are very knowledgeable about these issues. Remember there are also Medicare Advantage plans (Medicare Part C) as an option -- these are plans provided by private insurers that provides all the benefits of traditional Medicare (Parts A & B). Many beneficiaries with only Medicare Part A and Part B get some sort of Medigap insurance. Also check out http://www.medicare.gov/ which contains a tool called "Medicare Option Compare."
