My nieces mother called me today and told me that she went into the emergency room with chest pain. The doctors found a clot in her arm leading to her heart (she has always had health problems). The emergency room called every cardiologist in our city. Every single one of them refused to see her because she doesn't have health insurance. Is this really legal, that in an emergency they refuse to see her? What can she do, she doesn't have the money to afford insurance? Any suggestions? Please, and Thank you guys.

They have to treat you regardless of whether or not you can pay. If that clots bursts and she dies there is one hell of a lawsuit the doctors have on their hands. Good luck and get a lawyer!
