Can my employer make me get an inferior health insurance plan before I can get the "good" plan?

My employer is making new employee's get a really inferior health insurance plan (Starbridge) for a year before they can get the full catastrophic health insurance plan. If you don't get the Starbridge plan and keep it for 12 months you can never get the good plan.

They can make any requirements that they want. If you want to make sure it is valid you can contact the Department of Insurance in your state or your state's labor board or Dept. of Labor.
