Can my GF be qualified for health insurance?

I was wondering if its possible to put my GF on my health insurance. It says in order for me to put her on my insurance, she needs to be a dependent on me. Well for these past taxes her brother put her as her dependent and well now I'm paying for everything for her, not her brother. Example: Food, Necessities, Gas, Transportation. Will she be considered by dependent or is there another way I can put her on my insurance because she needs the insurance, because she has MS and needs to see specialists.

Do you live together? Some states (and some medical plans) have a domestic partner clause which would allow her to be covered under your health insurance if she meets certain criteria. Do you have coverage through your employer? If so, contact your HR department and ask them if a domestic partner can be covered by your health plan. They'll be able to answer your questions and even get the enrollment process going, if she's eligible.
