How long did you have to work for your employer before you were eligible for health insurance?

My former employer requires one year of service as a full time employee before she will provide benefits. Is it me or is that a bit ridiculous?

It is a bit ridiculous. In fact, I think it's very ridiculous. I have worked for places that provided benefits immediately, after 1 month, and after 3 months. Never a full year, although I have heard of that happening.
