health insurance?

my dad was diagnosed with cancer we have gone to the gold card place to try and get help with the payment of his chemotherapy but we have not had any luck i was wondering does anyone of an insurance company out there that will cover someone with a pre-existing condition.

You need to look into insurance companies and their exact pre-existing clause. The best recommendation is to check out PPOs and not HMOs. You will pay more for the medical treatments, but you will have freedom significantly more than with an HMO. United Health Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield are PPOs. Certain patients with medical histories of cancer will have a far harder tim getting coverage if you are purchasing the insurance on your own rather than through your employment. You should also make sure that you have a physician who is willing to fight for your care in relation to insurance. The doctor who is seriously concerned will go the distance in whatever way they can to getting what you need. I have had colon and liver cancer and when we were looking for addition medical insurance purchased out of pocket, our insurance rep said that there is no way I would get coverage even though I had a clean bill of health at the time. It didn't matter how much I paid nor if the insurance contract specified treatment coverage. They will find a way around it in whatever way they can.
