Is it possible to talk to a counselor without my father finding out through his health insurance?

My health insurance is through my father. I don't have a good relationship with him...there for - I don't want him to find out. When the insurance company is billed, will my father know? I don't really know how to go about this. I don't know how the insurance companies work, and if the card holder is able to find out information, etc. My guess is yes. Can anyone provide me with some info?

It depends on the type of insurance you have. Not the name brand, but the plan. Some plans, he'll get an 'explanation of benefits'. Some, he won't. Call the number on the back of your card and find out.
