WHY is Obama pushing so hard to force every American to buy health insurance?

Do those people who hope this bill passes realize that they will need to begin paying for health insurance, and if they don't, do they know that Pelosi said that going to jail 'would be appropriate?'

Health care wouldn't be such an issue if in the past we could have crossed state lines to buy it causing more competition and thus lowering the costs for everyone, thus more people could have been insured, thus lowering the costs for everyone. Obama had several very easy and cost effective ways to go about reform, but he wanted socialized medicine, he wanted to do in one fell swoop what hasn't been able to get done over the past several decades of trying. We don't need nor do we want healthcare reform, we want insurance reform and less government intervention in our lives. Pelosi is evil incarnate!
