Why are The Democrats not listening to the voters, driving head-long into passing the Health Insurance Reform?

People have made it clear this bill is not what they wanted; for what reasons are the Democrats helll bent to pass this bill?

because it is , like social security, a power grab. Once it is in the system it will be almost impossible to derail it. Even though social security and medicare are total failures. Everything governemnt does out side of military has failure built in it.Because they have to by force make one citizen pay the bills of another citizen , And as human nature goes, that will discourage the producers and make the irresponsible greater in numbers.
