lump is soft and not clearly defined... swelling is worse when I sit. swelling starts right below my belly button and goes all the way to my toes on both sides. I have no health insurance.

Sound like it might be a hernia. Call the largest local hospital in your area, and ask them for the number of their clinic. Large hospitals usually have clinics where their residents and med students train. They are low/or no cost clinics that can treat you and help you get your meds if needed.
