Are these health insurance ads I'm seeing on TV for real?

I have open enrollment at my job for next year but I pay $500 a month for family coverage. Can I do it cheaper without compromising my families care?

Nope. The average family plan is $1200 a month for low/no deductible coverage. Most of the ads your seeing are probably for "plans", not "insurance" - which means they are selling you a LIST, and won't ever pay out anything. With health insurance, you get exactly what you pay for. And clearly, your employer is picking up more than half the tab - you've got a good deal there. Want proof? Just call one of those numbers, and tell them to put the deal in writing, and see what they say.
