my father has a 3m plan through health partners and we are trying to figure out if the baby would be covered by my parents insurance, since i'm still a dependent under their insurance as long as i'm a fulltime student in school/college. supposedly i'd have to make my father legal guardian of my child, is this true?

Most insurance plans would NOT cover your baby in this instance, unless your parents are the legal guardians. The only way you can know for sure, though, is to contact your specific insurance company and ask them.
