I am a soon to be mom without health insurance.?

I have not had health insurance for 3 yrs now. Till now it's not really been that big of a deal because I'm a very healthy person and was able to pay for all of ck ups @ the doc. but now I'm expecting & I'm not going to be able to pay in full for prental care,& birth delivery of a baby. I have not gone to the doc because I would like to get on health insurance first & I'm scared if I go to the doc first insurance will say it was a preexisting condidtion & not insure me. The baby's father says I should get on Medicaid but he makes $6000 a month, & we live together, so I'm scared that he makes too much money for me to get on Meicaid & we can't afford for me to have any kind of insurance that is expensive. What is the best thing for me to do?

individual companies will not accept you. the drs office will work out a payment plan (if not, try other dr) & each month you'll pay certain amt ($200-300) the amount is based on your areas average cost for normal delivery- you'll need to work out plan w/hospital too. don't put off your care- it's not that uncommon to be w/out insurance

Why do we pay for others health insurance when we barely get by??!!?

I work 2 jobs, only have 3 days off a month, pay like heck for health ins. Why are people with no jobs have better health ins than I ? How can they stand back and let us hard workers pay for them ? it sucks. I watch ladies with 3 kids no job go to the doctor or hospital when they barely have a cough yet it cost me $200 to go. I see the food stamp card buying pizza, cereal, pop tarts, junk food..... they sell the card to a drug dealer for half its price so they can buy their crack or whatever. Wheres the justice??

i understand what your'e saying, i got health insurance, yet i still can't afford to go to doctor. we got major problems in this country as far as health insurance goes, but HILLARY CLINTON'S answer is NOT the way to fix it. its really gonna be a mess if she gets her way.

Ask your agent about the various waiting periods. Or read about them in the description of the policy.

Is Blue Cross Blue Shield of N.C. health insurance still valid if the policy holder moves out of state?

I know a self-employed person who is insured by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, but who left N.C. a year ago to work somewhere else temporarily. He hasn't had to file a claim so far but I'm wondering if his insurance coverage is still valid even though he's paying the premium every month. He has not given them a change of address notification.

Jim, Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I'm from Indiana I'm not familiar with the North Carolina laws and regulations, so I suggest you call a local insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Healt… They should be able to help you.

Does Cobra or Medicaid health insurance cover all costs for prenantal visits?

Does Cobra or Medicaid cover all costs for prenatal visits?
--------------------
COBRA only covers what your insurance covered prior to your qualifying event. For Medicaid, it depends on your state as Medicaid programs are funded and have coverage on a state-by-state basis.

Where can a woman go for free health care. I am poor, although I work. No health insurance.?

42 yr old woman who constantly has her period and feels tired all the time. I want to go to a Doctor, but I have no health insurance. I work, but after bills have very little money left over. I'm afraid there is something seriously wrong with me and I don't want to die, but on the other hand I am worried about where to go? where do I turn to? I pay taxes like every one else and do not qualify for medicare. Any suggestions?
--------------------
Call your local health department and ask them about low income/free clinics to provide you with health care. You probably need some iron from losing alot of blood but you definitely need a doctor. If they don't provide you with any help call a local hospital and ask for their social services department and talk to them about free/low income clinics/doctors. Good luck.

part-time permanent employee at mervyns was wondering if they offer health insurance?

I am afraid to ask since i work part time the manager is always different and when im there get the uptight manager thank you for your answers
--------------------
You should have been given this info when you were hired. Call the corporate office if you feel uncomfortable asking a manager. But usually, part-time help is not offered health insurance. (especially in retail) You would usually have to work at least 35 hours a week for benefits.
