afford it, do you believe the government should have a role in providing education? medicaid/medicare? veteran's health care? food stamps? disaster aid? if one is socialism, are the others? what is the role of government in your opinion? sorry, a political question in parenting because it was prompted by another question here.

the govt is supposed to be by the people for the people. we elect people who we believe are best for the job to help us and our country. protect our citizens. thats doesnt just mean military either. the govt was created to be about its people. health care is about the people. education is about the people. protection is about the people. edit - so tex ready for a friendly debate? :-) hurricane katrina victims were treated right by our govt since they completely failed those people? the govt would have been better doing nothing at all? we shouldnt help out our own people? the job of the govt is only attacking other nations and wrecking havoc on land that is not our soil? just wanted someone to actually debate with. not meant as malice.
