When a person who can't afford health insurance goes to the hospital emergency room for medical treatment and

can't afford to pay it back, who pays for that?

If it is a private Hospital they will turn you away. if it is a Hospital that is Federal funded can and will go after you like any other bill owed them.If you have nothing they cannot get anything but put it on your credit as owed.If you have a home they will attach a lien against your home.
