I dont have health insurance and , I need to know what my best options are , and I wasn't sure if asking my doctor would be a good idea or not, seems like she would though, since she knows my medical condition and i do plan to have tests run in the future, medications etc.

Your doctor may not know the details of specific insurance plans, but she might be able to tell you what to look for in a plan based on your needs. It wouldn't hurt to ask. You should also talk to an independent insurance broker, though.
