Why should people have to pay a tax if they don't why to buy health insurance? If people choose not to drive, they are not taxed for not buying car insurance. I thought most liberals and Democrats were fighting to keep the government out of the citizens' lives?

The state knows much better than the individual exactly what is required for him or her to do; how to do it, why not to do it,the penalties for not doing it, and the penalties for doing it. The individual defers to the state any and all decisions for the good of all. They believe in equal results for all; not equal opportunity...
