How much would the health insurance cost when applying for a schengan visa?

i would like to know an estimation of how much it will cost when going to the schengan states. would the insurance company charge me only for my visit or the whole year? i will go only to one country for 2 weeks. i dont have any health problems and i am on my 20's.

You should first check with your sick insurance company whether it complies with the Schengen requirements. It must cover at least €30,000.00 and include hospitalization and repatriation in case of severe sickness. It also must be valid within all 25 Schengen countries. If your insurance covers that have your insurance company provide a written statement thereof. The consular officers do not want to check pages of small printed terms and conditions to find out. Schengen travel insurance is offered by several companies. I have checked AXA since they are global players. They ask for €29 for the 16 day insurance. Before getting your insurance if required you should check the requirements on the webpage of the Embassy your plan to travel to; some countries require to have at least a 30 days insurance which would cost €46. Also the procedures of providing proof of insurance vary from country to country. Some embassies require the proof of insurance to be presented with the visa application; others just want to see it after you have been notified that your visa has been approved and may be picked up at the Embassy. http://www.axa-schengen.com/english/axa-… ..
