Where to a find good site Affordable Family Health Insurance?

Hello, please suggest me a website for affordable family health insurance. There are many sites that offer you discount, but i think most of them are scams.I need cheap price for my health insurance. Please let me know.
--------------------
Search your State Government's website. Look for the page of the Insurance Commissioner. That site should list all companies legally permitted to offer coverage in your state. Or you could contact a local doctor's office and ask them for a list of companies that they allow. Remember not every doctor accepts all insurance policies. In some areas one company is better then another.

Is there family health insurance that covers surgery?

My family is looking for family insurance that covers surgery. But there is too many health insurance places and plans that we don't understand. If you guys know please provide contact or website please. Thank You!
--------------------
First, you're asking for spam links - and none of those will help you. Second, if anyone already NEEDS the surgery, it's too late to buy insurance to cover that now. It's now a "preexisting condition", and you'll have to pay for it out of pocket. Third, to purchase insurance when you've got so many choices to look at it makes your head spin, you probably need to talk to a local broker or agent. You can find one at www.iiaba.net . . . they will help you balance coverage and cost to find a plan you can afford. But it still won't cover preexisting conditions.

What is the best private health insurance company (low cost) for employees without sponsored employer plans?

Need independent health insurance. Employer does not provide plan. State is Louisiana. Existing Blue Cross Blue Shield policy with current employer, but would need to continue independent coverage with BCBS upon changing jobs or locate another low-cost provider. Any advice helpful. Thanks.

Why do states have a minimum on hours worked law to be eligible for health insurance? The law protects who?

Some states like NJ & NY set a minimum number of hours that must be worked in order for the employee to be considered eligible for the employee health insurance. Why is there this law? Who does it protect, the employer, the employee, or the health insurance company? If it is to protect the employer, why not rely on employer policy. Likewise, if it is to protect the insurance company, why can't the insurance company rely on a contractual minimum hours policy? It seems strange that state law would require such a condition.
--------------------
If you are not a full time employee he is not required to provide group health insurance for you and that saves him money. You may want to work full time but he has the right according to law not to pay for your health insurance if you work fewer hours. That is all over the U.S. It is optional for employer to offer health insurance because it has become so expensive.

Can I request a health insurance company to pay a bill of a service done four years ago?

I had a health care service performed on me four years ago, and just recently the service provider is claiming for a payment. I have another insurance company now, can I ask my previous insurance company to pay? As an additional note, due to a miss on the provider side, the bill never got in my hands and they sent the claim to a wrong insurance company. Finally they sent the bill to a collection agency, this is how they found me and also how I knew about this bill.
--------------------
I would never say never - I do believe that many insurance companies have a time limit on when they will reimburse a claim, some as soon as 12 months after the service. However, I would communicate to them what you did in this question and see what happens. It cant hurt!

Why does the GOP want to take away the states' ability to govern health insurance?

The current status of health insurance is that policies can be sold in any state where the policy meets the rules the state put into place. What conservatives want to do is remove the states' ability to regulate health insurance policies. Allow companies to sell policies across state lines without obeying the rules for those states. This would be a huge power grab for the health insurance industry. They would be able to kick so many people out of their policies. And the "cherry picking" would get worse. Why do conservatives support this idiocy? It would make things severely worse.

Starting Today, Why Are All Children Unable To Get Individual Health Insurance?

President Obama promised that today, "insurance companies are forever banned from denying coverage for children with pre-existing conditions". Well, thanks to Obamacare, ALL children are now banned from individual health insurance coverage. The insurance companies made a business decision to discontinue ALL individual health plans for kids under 19. Children can now only be insured under a family plan. If an adult member of the family is un-insurable, too bad for the kid. Why did Obama assure perhaps millions of kids cannot get insurance?

Is there health insurance for military spouses through the VA?

My husband is out of the military and even though he could of gotten health insurance through his job he chose to get it through the VA but says there is nothing for me. He showed me the site saying that spouses can only get insurance if the spouse is totally disabled or dead. Is this true? Or can is there a health insurance i can still be on? He isnt in the reserves he is unactive reserve i think.
--------------------
you are not entitled to VA insurance. You must secure your own, either through his job or yours, or a private source(which will cost an arm and a leg).

Will the recession and lack of health insurance keep the hospital from working on me with health problems?

Im sure millions of people wonder if they have a lapse in health insurance and have cancer for example, will the hospital refuse service to them. That goes for any health problem. What happens today when you go to the hospital with a heart attack and no health insurance? And are you treated as skum at the hospital and is your care reduced?
--------------------
No. Although some hospitals may be filled with assholes who will butt you out. Hospitals are required to take in things like gunshot wounds, heart attacks, and all of those other immediate life threatening injuries and conditions. They have to take you in and stabilize you. At least that's what they do at Mass General Hospital and BU medical in Boston. It's those, what I like to call, "dumb" things that ERs can get filled with. You know. People with a cough and sore throat thinking they have TB. Those things that could be solved by a 5 minute doctor's visit (which in turn is actually and most literally tens to hundreds of times cheaper than going to an ER).

How much $ does Joe Lieberman get from the health insurance industry?

Why does Lieberman have reservations regarding health care reform? Maybe it's because he is in the water boy for the insurance industry?

where would an active market for health insurance be less likely to emerge? and why?

A question come up in my health economic class which I don't quite know how to answer it. Can anybody help me? Think of two otherwise identical hypothetical countries, one of which has widely eliminated contagious disease and the other for which contagious disease remains a major cause of death. Where would an active market for health insurance be less likely to emerge, and why?
--------------------
The latter, because nearly all countries which have widely eliminated contagious disease provide their citizens with healthcare. The only major one left where purchasing health insurance is still necessary is the United States.

can you claim your parents as dependents for health insurance and tax purposes?

My parents are very old and I plan to have them move into my house and help pay for some of their expenses for medication etc. 1)can I put them under my health insurance plan for my employer and how does that work if I wanted to do that? 2)can I file them as my dependents even though they are my parents for tax deduction purposes? Thank you.
--------------------
There are two types of dependents as of 2005. Qualifying Child and Qualifying Relative. Your parents are too old for the former, so let's focus on the latter. To be a Qualifying Relative, they: 1) Relationship - They need to be related to you. As a parent, they pass this test. Certain relationships are too distant to qualify unless the person lives with you all year. Parents don't fall into that category. In fact, they NEED NOT LIVE WITH YOU AT ALL in order to pass this test. 2) Gross Income - If they have a gross income of $3,300 (exemption amount) or more, no dice. If their only income is social security, you're OK. If they have other income (pensions, investments, interest), make sure it is less than the exemption amount $3,300 (for 2006). For 2005, it was $3,200. 3) Joint Return - If they "have" to file a joint return, no dice. 4) Support - you must provide over 1/2 of their support. Sounds like you do. Now, here is the fun stuff. If you are single and claim either or both of your parents as dependents and you pay for over 1/2 of the costs of maintaining your parents' residence (whether it is the same residence as you or a totally different place) for the entire year, you can file as Head of Household instead of Single. It sounds like you may have qualified to claim your parents and maybe even claim Head of Household in prior years as well. If so, it isn't too late to change (amend) your tax returns for 2003, 2004, and 2005. You have until April 16th, 2007 to amend 2003 before it goes bye-bye. Every tax day, another year vanishes. Since April 15th falls on Sunday in 2007, tax day is Monday the 16th. You will have to check with your insurance plan to see if dependent parents can be added. My guess is no, but I'm not an insurance expert. Good luck! By the way, all of this can be found at www.irs.gov. Look in Publication 17.

Is it good to buy a short term health insurance policy?

I have heard many people say that if I want to save tax, I should just go and invest in some small term health insurance policy. Is that the right things to do? The advisor I met with told me to buy a yearlong plan. I am confused, please help.
--------------------
Health Insurance is actually a long term product through it is renewed in a short term (every year). Buying a health insurance policy for the long term has many benefits: 1. Since you are young and healthy, you will get all your illnesses covered for hospitalization as per the policy. 2. There are waiting period in policies for coverages and benefits. If you buy a policy when you are young for long term, you be covered for all ailments by the time you need the policy. 3. A long term policy bought at young age can be bought without a Health Check up, and with least restrictions/exclusions. So go for a long term health insurance policy. There are numerous companies in India offering good health plans/policies. Use services of a broker to get best analysis of your needs vis-à-vis what is available in the market. Here's one broker you can try: www.medimanage.com/inquiry.aspx

How long did it take the people of Massachusetts to figure out how to milk mandatory health insurance?

Here is what they do. They refuse to buy insurance and pay fines (that's cheaper) Whenever they anticipate significant health care spending, they buy insurance for $1000. Then quickly they have all their surgeries, insurance pays $20,000 Three month later they terminate insurance and switch to cheaper fines.

Can I take my Health Insurance Payment as a Business Expense?

While I'm a full time employee, I also get about 10% of my income from freelancing. My health insurance coverage was from my spouse's employer. Since I got divorced in the Fall of '07, I pay for health insurance through Cobra. Can I take the cobra payments I made the last 3 months of '07 and put them against my freelance income. It represents about 25% of my "miscellaneous" income. Thanks in advance.

Is it a good idea to wait til my health insurance kicks in before i get diagnosed??

I havent been diagnosed with PCOS yet..even though i have all the symptoms.. but i currently dont have health insurance yet.. I have to apply for medicaid because i get paid biweekly and the insurance at my job is my whole pay check if i get their insurance.. should i wait to get diagnosed or will medicaid or family health plus cover it after i got diagnosed.. please tell me which is better?
--------------------
If you get a formal diagnosis it may not be covered. a lot of HMOs like deny coverage for "pre-existing" conditions. I suppose this is to keep people from obtaining health insurance when they already have a costly health problem. Kind of like getting life insurance after you die. If you can wait, just to be safe & put not yourself through the hassale of unpaid insurance claims, I would. If you are in distress you can always go to the ER and get emergency medicaid. Hope everything works out!

What Are Some Good Health Insurance Companies?

I used to be a 1099 worker but just recently got switched over to a salary but i still do not have health insurance. Are there any affordable health insurance companies out there that you guys know of?.. Maybe ones that also do Dental as well?.. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
--------------------
Visit a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best policy for your situation and budget. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with any one plan. There is no extra charge using an agent. Do not try to do this over the internet and do not click any of the links that have been provided. That is a good way to get scammed, or your name will be sold to numerous people who will bother you with phone calls.

Does a small business owner have to provide health insurance to his employees?

I'm starting my own business and I want to buy my family's health insurance through the business because they do some work for me. However, I do not want to offer it to my employees who are not in my immediate family. Are there any regulations against this. I just want to know before I proceed any further. Thanks. p.s. I'm in Georgia, so any rules for that state would be most helpful, but help from anywhere would be great too.
--------------------
I'm not sure of the health insurance stipulations in Georgia. However, in Virginia it is fine to get health insurance through the company for just the owner and family and not include the employees.
