Can you typically set up a payment plan with your health insurance company (for a very large bill)?

My deductible is quite high and unfortunately we've gone through it in one incident.

You don't pay the deductible to your insurance company, they take it off the reimbursement. It's the provider you need to deal with, and most will accomodate a payment plan, especially if the bill is large. It's better than getting stiffed, and it shows your intentions are honorable. Call the doctor or hospital.
