Why doesn't Obama want people to be able to get health insurance from other states?

wouldn't this create more competition in the insurance business?

It sure would, and isn't that part of the objective of reform? I don't know why he is against it, it makes me think that he does not really want competition and wants to have government health care the only "affordable" option.
