If you lose your job, do you keep your health insurance?

I don't mean the COBRA plan, I mean the same health insurance you had when you were working. Someone told me that Obama passed a bill for people who lose their job to keep their health insurance for 3 months. Is this true? Is so, any explaination and links will help.
