My mother is a single mother and teaches at a public college, she can afford health insurance?

Public school teachers aren't paid well. Being a single mother doesn't help. Her job doesn't pay for her health insurance, she does. So why can she afford it, when she clearly doesn't make a lot of money, but so many other people claim they can't? Isn't it a sign that you don't have to be rich to afford health care, like so many liberals claim?
