If I hold a Life insurance license in NYS how do I obtain a Health Insurance Agent's license?

Do I have to retake the Life course along with the health?

Check w the state insurance commissioner's office or the website the state maintains w licensing requirements. Most states offer the life & health exam as a combined entity covering a cross section of questions from both areas. Passing it and paying the fees , etc gives you the basic requisites for licensing, but then my experience w ins licensing is in MD , not NY Good Luck !!

What is the better option regarding health insurance. maternity rider or coverage with maternity covered & why

I'm trying to figure out if it's better to have a plan with a maternity rider option or take a plan that already covers maternity. I found a plan that allows maternity rider to be added on later and the monthly premium is less per month. But regardless if it's with a rider or no- the waiting period is still 12 months. Which way is the best option? My husband and I aren't planning for kids for another couple of years but want to be covered when the time is right.

Any maternity coverage with an individual plan is more of a pre-payment plan than insurance because the insurance company knows only people who are planning on becoming pregnant will get it. If you do the math with the waiting period and extra premium you'll find that you'll be better off paying cash for the delivery. You can save the extra premium money in a savings account or, if you have an HSA qualified plan, into the HSA account. Almost all individual policies will cover complications of pregnancy, such as a c-section, even if you don't have maternity coverage so you'll be protected on most plans.

how much does health insurance cost for a 20 year old male?

Who has good health, no preexisting conditions etc. Roughly how much would it cost per month? and I'm talking about where you only have to pay the 20 dollar copay at a doctor's visit, rx are cheaper, and other things such as operations only need to have a portion paid. and how about for someone who has a preexisting condition and say. . . would need surgery on both of his knees? would that effect qualifications? would it up the monthly bill?

Probably not as many as those who are funding the party that is trying to pass a bill that REQUIRES you to PURCHASE health insurance or you will be fined heavily and/or sent to jail. And you do realize that the DNC has had control of the House and Senate for a few years now...right? Why didn't they do it when they had those 60 votes?
