how long does it get under army health insurance?
I am getting married this sunday and i was wondering how long it would take for me to get under his insurance. I've heard it can take up to six months is that true? How long does it usually take and what do i have to do?

No health insurance (Tricare) will not take up to 6 months before you are eligible for it. That can be housing or command sponsorship if he is overseas on orders. As soon as your information is entered into DEERS you are automatically enrolled into Tricare Standard. With Standard you go to approved civilian providers, have a yearly deductible and a co-pay for each visit. When you get your military ID card you can change to Tricare Prime. With Prime you go to a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and there is no cost to you after being given a Primary Care Manager (PCM). With Prime though that doesn't start immediately it depends on the date of hte month you enroll. If you do it before the 20th then it starts on the 1st of the next month. If you sign up after the 20th then it starts on the 1st of the following month. Meaning you sign up May 19th it starts on June 1st, but sign up on May 21st it starts on July 1st.

What do you think of the bill passed by the VA. Senate banning a health insurance mandate?
Is this an indication that forced health care could be deemed unconstitutional on a national level should the progressives attempt to force it on Americans? And is the revolt against it just beginning? What do you think?
--------------------
Of course Obama's trash is unconstitutional. You can't legally fine someone because they don't purchase health insurance. That in itself should tell liberals that Obama has no concerns for the Constitution.

These student injury and illness plans provide wide ranging coverage and are designed to be more affordable than an individual policy. To check if your school is participating, go to www.UHCSR.com and enter your school name at the prompt. Even if your school is not contracted with United Healthcare, you may become eligible be joining the ACSA (American College Student Association) for a minimal fee, and take advantage of the plan that covers college students across the US. If you don't find your school listed, type in ACSA and view the benefits available to their members.

As a single parent entering the military, will my son be covered under my health insurance?
I understand I mainly have a few a few options. Marry my ex legally, Marry her and work things out, or go to court and relinquish custody and pay child support. My question.... If I chose to relinquish custody to join, would my son be covered under my healthcare plan or would she have to look into finding her own insurance plan for the two of them. Thanks!
